Turn 10 has announced Forza Motorsport 4 and the American LeMans Series will partner up.
Quote:
Today, the premier North American sports car racing series and the highest rated racing video game franchise of this generation announced a two-year partnership that will bring the thrill of the automotive world to fans everywhere, whether in-game or at the track. Turn 10 Studios, creators of the best-rated “Forza Motorsport” video game franchise, and the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón (ALMS), will partner across a range of events and content celebrating the famed racing series as well as the launch of “Forza Motorsport 4” on Oct. 11, exclusively on Xbox 360.
This could be really cool or it could be a big, who gives a crap moment.
The official page calls it a 'partnership' and only mentions tracks that have appeared in previous Forza games. All 26 cars, also mentioned, would not be a big bonus either considering most have also appeared in past games. Basically a partnership that adds some paint schemes and a logo to the box
The really cool bit could be if they include the full ALMS season. That would be at least four new real-life tracks that were not in F3. Long Beach, Lime Rock Mid Ohio and Mosport. Could be five if they include Baltimore which is new this year but might make for a nice city track - far better than the NY crap at least. Go one better if they include dynamic day/night cycles.
Any chance we get an actual ALMS season mode? I know Forza 4 will only have a max of 12 cars on track at once but it would still be nice to race a season/championship with 12 LMP cars or even a combination of 6 LMP and 6 GT cars on the grid. It would be nice to be able to race this outside of career mode too.
I also wonder if there are any other ALMS tracks besides the 4 mentioned in the article. Long Beach, Lime Rock, Mid Ohio and Mosport would be really nice. I don't really care about Baltimore.
