Madden 12 News Post

Jon Robinson of ESPN The Gamer takes us through the team overall ratings for the NFC South in Madden NFL 12.

Atlanta Falcons: 87
Roddy White (96 overall, 92 speed) and Julio Jones (78 overall, 94 speed) provide Matt Ryan with plenty of firepower from the outside, while Michael Turner (93 overall) and Jerious Norwood (95) are just the type of one-two punch from the backfield "Madden" gamers live for.

New Orleans Saints: 85
Drew Brees has three receivers with over 90 speed to throw to, and a rookie runner in Mark Ingram who struts onto the field with 95 toughness and 87 trucking. Talk about a team that can drive a defense crazy.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 84
When I got the ratings, one of the first things I looked up was LeGarrette Blount's jump rating (84), but it's his 98 trucking ability that will make him a "Madden" favorite up the middle.

Carolina Panthers: 72
Cam Newton is going to be a handful for virtual defenses. Check these numbers: 83 speed, 94 acceleration, 97 throwing power, 81 throwing accuracy. Should make Steve Smith a happy man.

what is the 81 accuracy? There is not just one throw accuracy rating.

# 6 XNowOrNever85X @ 07/29/11 08:43 PM
I just think thats to high for Cam.O ik there is more throw accuracy ratings just saying that 81 might be a little to high.

And then Drew Brees struggled this year and the Saints lost to the Seahawks...

dont complain about it cant be sim because all this guy talks about is speed since he works for espn not madden and is in love with speed not overall also norwood has 95 speed

Looks pretty good, although despite being a Falcons fan and absolutely hating the Saints, I think the Saints should be no more than one point below the Falcons. Our teams look pretty even going into next season.

Your logic: I can't complain about the guy being obsessed with speed because he's obsessed with speed.

Agreed. I saw nothing in his college career to justify Cam Newton starting his NFL career with 81 accuracy. That's way, way too high for him to start with.

Roddy White got slower after another solid year, but some other players got faster??? Makes no sense to me. I'm pretty sure he is faster than Julio.

Cam: SAC 87 MAC 72 DAC 85 RUN 87

Tell me thats not the biggest freaking joke ever! Thats a better deepball than 95% of the NFL. Better than Vick, Freeman, Flacco, Schaub, Eli Manning, and just about every other QB not named Brady or Peyton.

Even his SAC is higher than 90% of the NFL.

a 77OVR is fine by me being he was the #1 QB and has an athletic skill set, but that type of accuracy out the gate for a running QB with one good year of college and accuracy issues is just flat out assinine.

He faced single coverage all year due to the run game and Cam threat to run. Not like he tourched secondaries or anything.

Donny must have smoked something the day he came up with Newtons ratings.

97 throwing power for Newton... he's got a gun, but no. A few ticks high for my taste.

Honestly, the Saints should have a lower score than the Bucs.

# 20 wishcoats @ 07/31/11 06:15 AM
This is going to be a tight division. Could Atlanta defy NFC South history and win the division for a second year in a row? Can the Saints come back from a disappointing end of the season to retake the division crown? Can the Bucs take the next step? How will Carolina follow up its terrible season? Lots on intrigue. Can't wait!
