They sure can make this game sound good. I'm going to need to play it before I buy it though.

Video #1:

- GSP is at MW and WW
- Leg Kick TKOs are in
- Auto Transition Block is gone (maybe means Rule of 3 is gone too)
- Less frequent Flash Knockdowns.

Video #2

- Stat Decay is gone in career mode
- "Finish the Fight" feature will cause more realistic KOs and more TKOs
- Jabs are much stronger.

As a striker and a boxing purist, this make me smile =)

Q & A #4 is up with Marc Laimon:

Here are some of the key things mentioned:

- Submission animations "look a lot more real", "blurring the lines of reality" according to Marc Laimon.

- Laimon was not a fan of the old "Shin Mechanic." Feels the newer systems is more technical as opposed to "mashing the stick."

- Added outside leg trips, single leg takedowns, and more overall takedowns, including in the clinch, and all have a "struggle state."

- Standing back clinch can be "major transitioned" into from the clinch.

- New venus, keeping up to date with UFC's new venues, as well as Pride's old venues.

- Laimon liked the original Pride FC game, and felt the Pride mode of UFC Undisputed 3 brought back the nostalgia.

- In the "rocked state", defender has the ability to sway to avoid strikes as well as counter grapple. In previous versions the defender was only able to block.

- You can now hear your corner during the fight.

- Redid all the cuts and bruises to make it more realistic and brutal.

- Striking feels more natural, more responsive according to Laimon. Being in the mount is more forgiving, not just dead in the water.

semantics, but I'd go with 'effective' lol

It really seems like they did go back and look at what was better in 09 - the striking was so much more balanced back then, so I'm really happy because I could win online and offline in 09 in very BALANCED fights with a striking STRATEGY. That was gone in 2010, so even that last interview with lamon, it really seems like they're going for more balance and strategy in the striking game. In 09 I would jab a LOT, and do quick 1-2's, at that point the other guy as I moved in would block his head and I'd dish out body punches and leg kicks, then next time leg kick and big hooks to the head and attack in bursts like that.

in 2010, it was a game where eveyone just kept the technique button jammed down, there was zero point in jabbing or even doing many non-technique attacks. This sounds great so far in the stand up. Rocked sways and clinching, beating someone on the way down, jabs interrupting heavy strikes and putting them off trajectory, leg kick damage and CHECKS, and potentially damaging the kicker with checks. More recovery between rounds, wiggling out of clinches, ending clinches because of losening your own grip while throwing heavy knee's...closing gap in the clich to avoid knees to head. Much more the chess game than the checkers of 2010

of course we need to play ourselves, but the sentiments are being reflected at least in the interviews with almost every issue I had with 2010. JAB being probably the biggest and overall standup game balance and strategy.

Key points from #6.

- No more standing elbows (except for a few fighters who use it in real life). Takes away people spamming elbows.

- Can now sway, counter grapple while in rocked state.

- improved hit detection and hit animations.

- lighter classes move much faster than heavier classes

see, the elbows were ok in 2009, in 2010 they increased the distance that they would kick in which ruined it. they'd be fine if they were back to 09 or even closer...and especially up against the fence style.

so far so good though, they really listened and understood WHY many things took away from the experience even though they were adding a lot. The lingering worry on my part comes from how they ever released 2010 in the first place in it's state and thought it was OK.
