MLB Bobblehead Pros News Post

MLB Power Pros is back. Fans of the series know that Konami's baseball franchise is a fantastic simulation hidden behind cartoon-like graphics, and Konami's MLB Bobblehead Pros looks to add to the ridiculous graphics while retaining that authentic gameplay goodness.

PYS reigned over the PS2 console generation, and IMO I expected larger leaps and bounds ahead of those games from Konami once they hit the PS3. It hasn't changed much since then. Long ago I would have done anything to have an MLB game with a PYS basis. I wouldn't decline to have one now either, but I don't think it would be better than The Show.

I appreciate the Power/Bobblehead Pros series though because of the pacing and overall fun value associated with the cartoony aspect of it. The game can yield realistic numbers even when you don't care too much about it. Expectations with batting stances and stuff don't have to soar beyond what's necessary, and it can just be funny when making errors lol.

The only real question I still have with this game is, is it possible to hit home runs with contact this year? It wasn't in MLB Power Pros for PS2, and I don't think they've changed the hitting engine much here either to make it possible. Also, the PS2 version back when had an evening-to-night sky transition for night games. It wasn't that good, but it was there. With that opening shot of AT&T Park at night, it looks like they omitted it this time around.

Well the main thing PYS has over the show in my opinion is that you actually have some control over what happens in the game!

Konami wouldn't let us capture video. Darn shame too because Chase made quite possibly the greatest double play turn in all of video game baseball. Ask him about it, don't want to steal his thunder!

don't know why they don't use this in their real mlb game. this gameplay blows 2k11 out of the water. buy on first day.

I'm pretty stoked for this game!!!! I'm wondering the same exact thing, when is it coming out? Everything I've found on the net from Konami's E3 stuff say this pretty much:

"The first of three games to be released is MLB Bobblehead Pros which will be available soon, MLB Bobblehead Stars will be a DLC pack available around the MLB All-Star Game in July. The third game, MLB Bobblehead Battle, will feature a batting battle that will be out later this year."

So, "soon" would mean before the All Star Break??? Because that's when the Bobblehead Stars content will be out. Assuming that's correct, All Star Game is July 12th, soooooo before July 12th?

Wish we have a solid answer.

When do games come out on the Xbox Live Arcade Tuesdays?

So any chance this will make it to PSN?

The company has detailed that the game will come out sometime after Opening Day, with two DLC packages dropping between then and the 2011 All-Star Game.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing this come out after the World Series.

I was thinking about blzers theory, and hoping that it would be this Tuesday as well!!!

But if it was coming out then, we would probably have some kind of heads up wouldn't we? Although I wouldn't complain if it comes out that soon!

As much as I would like to get this, I think I would miss the appearance of the characteristic Power Pros models too much. They're so charming and awesome, and the models in Bobbleheads Pros looks... less so.

The Power Pros models are better. These things are kind of hideous and I'm pretty sure if you look them in the eyes they steal your soul. The stadiums crowds got a nice little upgrade though!

Has there been any mention of a season/franchise mode that I've missed? It seems like this is just going to be an exhibition game toy.

Edit - Looking around online it seems some of the Xbox achievements have to do with season mode (win WS/play five years).

Still no solid release date yet?

No date yet but an achievement list released is a positive unless that is, you are RBI Baseball. Lol

The game does have the worst achievement I've ever seen though. Complete 5 years of season mode.....for 10 points LOL.

Hahahahaha, I was thinking the exact thing!, I remember that. Got all geeked up for RBI on the xbox arcade, they posted achievement info, then the game vanished and never appeared again.

We need some of the powers that be, that are well connected, to get some info for us on MLB Bobblehead Pros release date
