That video is not a very good indication of how the new tactical defending will work or how the cpu ai will be. It was a damn tackle fest between those two dudes playing. Hopefully we see some cpu videos soon.

I think that video was designed mostly to show off the new impact system, which would explain why the two players were tackling so much.

Not bad...some nice footage there.

I normall don't get FIFA every year only because I'm not that big on soccer. Plus I'm still enjoying FIFA 11.

But I gotta have FIFA 12. My first back to back FIFA editions.

The one thing I have to say it looks like they've improved is the proportions in regards to player size v. the pitch. The field looked significantly less congested than past FIFA iterations. I have been really enjoying playing '11, as I have with all the other years, but the crowded pitch has always been an area of concern. I think they might have taken a page out of PES's book this year and made things right. Very nice.

Finally backbraker football! Oh, it's FIFA 12. Now let's see how refs will react to all this great impacts.
Anyway the overall look seems better than last year.

I hope they allow users to play more than 20 minute halves. I liked FIFA World Cup 2006, when they had 45 min halves...

That is a key. Will more fouls be called?

It's the only way to make sure the impact engine is used in the right way, which means we don't see hard tackles sending people everywhere all the time, otherwise you'll run out of players on the field. If the fouls are called correctly as they were not in FIFA 11, then we'll be set as it forces people to not tackle as hard. Big 'if'.

Well I found a snippett of it as the original video is 4 min long , I found one that is like 1 min 20 seconds or so. Here is the link -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6v0uM7LUec

It is very early footage and they said they were still gathering data but there were a bunch of tackles that went unpunished in that video. Also saw more "advantage" calls by the ref in situations where there just isn't any, along with some stale cut scenes too.
The one good thing I saw from the video is that it seemed like players with the ball were no longer caught off-guard by their own cuts. In previous FIFA's players with the ball that were asked to make a 180* cut always seemed to perform it and then take forever to continue on with moving, like they were reacting to the turn, rather than initiating it.

The tackling is straight out of Madden 12... Still getting use to the new camera angle... Could help make the action more intense.

I really really like what I'm seeing with regards to the new tackling and player proportion on the pitch.

However, three areas of concern:

1- Early in the gameplay footage, a glowing orb opens in goal for a split second when the player has an open shot. I really hope this is a toggle-able feature, because it would kill any realism for me. I remember it being toggle-able in previous FIFA versions so I'm not too worried.

2- Same cutscenes, same referee animations.

3- Still no word on whether we will be able to "swivel our head" and rotate the camera when playing in the Be A Pro camera. This is a complete game breaker for me. It boggles my mind how EA released this camera and allowed it to become so zoomed in without letting the user be able to look left, right, and behind them.

This?

I think it's just glare on the screen.

Could be wishful thinking but the grass/graphics seem to look a lot better(not as bright as 11) and the colors overall just look a lot more realistic...looks more like PES's color palette.

Liking the colours & the animation. Gameplay looked slow although I'm sure that won't be an issue come release.
You can't question how much effort EA put into the game on the pitch. Off the pitch however FIFA needs a overhaul. Hopefully that aspect of the game has received some attention this year.

Still early but looks very promising!

Despite putting more hours into PES this year, I'm more hyped for FIFA 12 this year. The speed still seems too fast though at default settings.
