Hopefully the bull rush isn't simply going to be this bowl over animation. I would like to see some serious push up field that collapses/disrupts the pocket especially from the DT's.

Is the dive automatic for human players or do you press the dive button to trigger the diving catches? I really don't want to see players diving when it appears they could run through the catch and get some RAC.

to do that to an OL you would have to have a 10 yd takeoff, i'll give them credit for listening to the community with OL/DL interaction, but this is wrong.

like skillz is saying, what they need is already in the game tune that element. IT NEEDS TUNING...

the catches look great though good job on that.

This explains alot, as far as the ol/ dl interactions are concerned. Theres no true fight animations it seems. I know that this is only showing bull rush feature, but on guy seems to be just a prop if you get what I mean. But yeah the catches look good so far. But like a pp said, I just hope it doesn't get overdone i mean, once in a while is good but not on every play.. Jussayin.

Yes please.

I'm surprised I haven't seen more people talking about scrambling quarterbacks, since they were non exsistent last year.

I hope so because very rarely do you see a d-linemen just topple an o-linemen like that. With most bull rushes the d-linemen drives the o-linemen backwards towards the QB to collapse the pocket, with the o-linemen still on his feet. That animation needs to be pretty rare, because that simply isn't the way most bull rushes play out.

Here is an example the interaction on the majority of successful bull rushes:

Notice how the d-linemen drives the o-linemen back though, he doesn't topple him over.

even D2 OL wont get pushed down like that, guys get pushed back and if an OL falls its due to bad footwork after a struggle not an insta punked like we just say.

if that happened 2 times to a player he would be cut.

but sliders will fix this, they put this in for guys who were putting QB's on the O line doing tests.....

bull rush looks good but the offensive lineman is not giving enough resistance

# 28 DavidmOrtiz15 @ 05/04/11 06:10 PM
In Ncaa and In Madden, not enough balls are caught in traffic period. I hate the fact that I bullet a pass and fit it through a window to have my receiver or tight end drop it, and not even that the corner or whomever is playing the ball can be three yards away and he'll still managed to drop it. These animations look great, by far something I look forward to buying along with Madden. I just hope our recievers and tight ends do one of the few jobs they have which is catching the ball. But EA, your doing great so far, keep up the good workk.

I like how they are implementing diving catches considering how often they are used in real life. Hopefully they get the receivers to actually jump up for the ball rather then wait for the ball to get to them. I also hope they threw out the Tyree animation for good.

Also, a true bullrush does not just run over the OL.
The DL/LB drives the OL backwards while "Engaged".
Not just topple the guy.

For the diving catch animation.
As long as every attempt is not a success.
There are more dropped passes when such an attempt is made vs caught.

Still waiting for actual College style pass catching.
Very few college players catch with their hands only.
Most use the stomach or shoulder pad catch.

Can't wait to see everything in it's fullness vs snippets.
I agree with everything you said. Hope they've added those animations.

Wow. I LOVE the cuts the receivers make at 42 seconds and 49 seconds. Those look fantastic.

I wonder what would happen if an OL got bull rushed into your HB after a handoff, would he get juke around, jump over or just get hung up until a defender gets there?

Dive catches are nice as long as it's not a guaranteed catch every time you see that animation, should be a tough catch to pull in.

As much as I am glad they added the bull rush finally in ncaa and mostly madden this year. The DE bowling the olineman over like that without the olineman putting up a fight does not happen just like that. It might happen once in a while. But the true bullrush has the dlineman pushing the olineman back into the QB hip pocket or bullrushing and then doing a swim move to get to the QB. I really hope this is going to be fine tune and all. This looks ok but needs some major tuning to make it look more real. I love the diving catches aswell. But I think both the bullrush and diving catching needs some tuning to make sure it ain't overdone. Overall is looks ok for now.

I can see it now. I am playing with a weak team and all 5 of my offensive linemen get swim moved or bull rushed and they all just fall over, and my running back gets tackled by 4-5 people the moment he gets the hand off.

Yea I can see it now. But on a serious note tho. I really hope they do tune the bullrush to only happen at certain times and is done according to the players ratings. If the bullrush is overdone then a ton of people on day one are going to complain about this. But we have to remember this is just a video to show off the bullrush. I'm sure they will show video later on to show how the olineman will counter it and all. So not to worried right now. I will wait until more videos are shown.

LOL you can see that now in NCAA 11. Play as Akron or Western Kentucky against Alabama or Wisconsin. You won't stand a chance.

I can already tell that I'm going to have slider the hell out of this to get the results I want.

Yeah that was kind of the problem last year with the swim move, it was too frequent and not only one defender do it, but 2 or 3 defenders AT THE SAME TIME would do it. Like it was syncrhonized swimming or something.

Solution: Don't use the University of Arizona.

# 40 Aggies7 @ 05/04/11 06:55 PM
It looks good but I hope there is a slider for the bullrush thing cause I'd hate to see that work consistently and cause a big issue for play action.
