EA has put out a press release giving more information about Browns RB Peyton Hillis' victory in the Madden NFL Cover Tournament and more detail about new features in Madden NFL 12.

Quote:
"Peyton Hillis, running back for the Cleveland Browns, was selected by millions of fans across the country to grace the cover of Madden NFL 12. Hillis, a No. 10 seed, defeated former Madden NFL 04 cover athlete and No. 3 seed Michael Vick (QB, Eagles) in the finals of an unprecedented campaign with ESPN.com and SportsNation that allowed fans to determine, by an online vote that was open to the public, the player to be featured on the cover of Madden NFL 12 when the game launches on August 30.

• Franchise mode includes more than 100 new features and enhancements, including expanded rosters, an all-new rookie scouting system, a free-agent bidding system, and more.

• In Superstar mode, fans can now control the growth of their superstar with an all-new progression system that allows you to earn skill points by participating in practice and games. More details on Franchise and Superstar modes will be released on May 16."

Source- Peyton Hillis is on the cover, and new features are here!

This is awesome.

Assuming this plays out as well as it sounds, I would like to thank Ian, I would imagine a lot of this has a lot to do with his input. I know people dogged him a lot but to me he seemed to always want to go towards the direction we here want.

I don't mean to just single him out because I know there are many involved, but I have no doubt he influenced this in a way.

I hope this turns out as good as it sounds...

Amen. U would think they would have been more merciful a lot sooner with all the money we wasted on half developed games.

I agree 90% But in all seriousness I think this has been a good day. I don't think they have added this much in one year, well ever. And I am sure there will be plenty more.

Oh and one other thing. And I haven't seen many talk about it, but we are getting a long awaited feature back in WR shading. As long as its implemented right it should tone down the easy slant routes.

Wow EA just wow... What a way to roll out info today. I must admit I'm impressed. I will be pre-ordering both games this year. One thing I really hope got addressed is the randomness of draft classes being imported from NCAA. Maybe this year it will work properly and reflect real life more. I am very stoked about BOTH games this year!

Will off-line franchise & online franchise have all the same features?

I like pretty much everything I have read about today... but the next step is to "wait and see." I have now gone from mostly cynical to interested in hearing/seeing more.

I tried online franchise 2 years ago and didn't last long. I want an good off-line franchise put online so I can get into it with 3-4 friends and play against smart AI controlled teams (on field and maybe more importantly off field).

I wonder if they will ever add a feature like 2k did with NBA where people can create draft classes and upload them. I know it'd be a longshot since it was put in due to no more college hoops, but at least an option to edit them for a better experience?
