I noticed Texas is ranked after a 5-7 season....

In all seriousness, this is awesome!

Well... After cover athlete and some kind of blog, and I'll probably pre-order just so I'm guaranteed release day play.

now I hope they added The Masked Rider on horse back(current horse is named Midnight Matador I believe) for Texas Tech's entrance.

Worry about them having TTU's fight song first lmao

Is the NCAA allowing for team colored gloves, now? I always thought team's players were limited to grey.

WOW! It really looks like they stepped up the ESPN Presentation. Based off the shots it looks like it'll look true to life unlike last year with the "here's something we can do that TV can't" stuff.

Questions

1) Why does NCAA always look so good in still pictures but does not look as good in motion?? Is it because of frame rate? Reason I ask is, NCAA 11 looked fantastic in still shots, but found it did not retain the same level of detail in motion where games such as The Show still look fantastic in motion.

2) Will NCAA 12 step up to the plate and introduce multiple hit tackles? True foot planting??? Better WR to DB interactions with the AI making a play on the ball by sight rather than "knowing" the moment I press the button?? Improvements to Online Dynasty?

I like the improvements to the visuals, but found the NCAA11 product to look good enough as it was. I am much more interested in hearing about the on field improvements. I think the #2 questions are the ones which will carry more weight at the end of the day once people have the game in their hands for several weeks.

Yup. I read somewhere about 2 months ago that they were going to allow it...

Now that it has set in a little bit, looks like we might get the "College Football" intro, which is actually a step forward as far as presentation. We have seen the sprinkles and frosting. Now, we wait until May to see what's underneath. Looks good so far, I'm LOVING seeing Ralphie...

never noticed it wasn't. I use custom stadium sounds anyway. I'm guessing the university doesn't have the rights to it, so EA doesn't have the rights to it. not a big deal to me personally as I use custom stadium sounds anyway.

I'd imagine that those issues are related to the code controlling level-of-detail and also the manner in which EA handles animation. I thought EA started off on this gen pretty rocky on the latter especially, but they've gotten much better over time. I wish they could have real-time presentation elements a la the NBA and MLB games, rather than cutscenes, but cutscenes are better than nothing.

We don't know about any of this yet either way. Count on some improvements.

See my response to #2. The information will start to come out soon, I'm sure.

They did. http://college-football.blogs.cbsspo...56338/27570281

Pretty sweet. Good to see EA wasted no time getting breaking the colors out.

Why do they spend so much time and resource on this feature? just improve gameplay!
Can you pat your head and rub your belly?

NCAA has really stepped its game up the past 2 years. I like it.

On April 21 (or maybe even a bit sooner since I'm sure some outlet will get a bit of a timed exclusive) you will hear some stuff about gameplay.

I do think lighting plays a bigger role than people probably think when it comes to the game in motion. It gets hidden more in stills, but seems to be exposed in-game. At least I would chalk up camera and lighting as an issue more than the frame rate.

I noticed that Texas was ranked coming off a season they didn't even get to a bowl game.

That's the exact article I read...

I could do without these psuedo-witty comments about Oregon and [insert random large number here] different combinations of helmets, jerseys, pants, gloves, walls, and turf... It got old after the second joke...

EDIT: What was here before was result of misread... Move along...

I can't think of one...baylor's helmets are gold and white. I know that the Big-12 is losing Colorado and Nebraska, but I don't know of any teams joining the Big-12. Does this mean that we'll be allowed to RE-ALIGN conferences, like we saw this year? I'M GUESSING YES!!
A guy in my OD looked at the pic and I think he hit the answer on the head. He said the helmets prolly represented each user in coop play. I was wondering what they were too. I said they look like Power ranger helmets lol. Each helmet signifying a user for coop play makes more sense than anything I can think of.

I wish we could get real time presentation like you mentioned. NBA2k11 showcases that this helps immersion greatly, rather than seeing the same cutscene for the hundredth time after you have had the game for 6 months.

You might be right Chase, I would think it is either Lighting, Framerate related (dumbing down textures to make frame rate playable), or is just a visual blur. Either way, I wish it looked as great in motion as it does in stills.

Yeah, according to EA's own dynasty system, based on last year's results, Texas should be unranked and a 5* prestige team this year. lol Florida should drop to 5* as well. Looks like Texas get's a break again from EA. How much you wanna bet they're both still 6* as well? lol

Yup, Midnight release.

They're probably just generic helmets on the bottom of the screen like espn uses.
