NCAA Football 12 News Post

Over the next few weeks, EA Sports will show 25 new plays that you will find in NCAA Football 12.

New offensive plays will be shown every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while a new defensive play every Tuesday and Thursday. Each new play will be accompanied by a screen of the play art and a brief description of why the play has been added to NCAA Football 12.

Play #11 features the Shotgun Wild Tiger Trey Fight Song.

Quote:
"Shotgun Wild Tiger Trey Fight Song - Auburn’s offense features a wide variety of unique and imaginative plays. One of the more interesting plays in their offense is Shotgun Wild Tiger Trey Fight Song. In this play the left tackle aligns on the ball on the right side of the formation in a receiver position. The left tackle is used as a decoy to throw off the defensive recognition of the play."

The way I would defend this would be blitz a extra guy from the uneven side and play a cloud zone to the side with the tackle in the flats.
This was what instantly came to my mind as soon as I saw the play art. This will be the cheesers' new favorite play. I can see it now, the TE and LT will be subbed out for WRs with high speed. The far outside receivers will be hot routed to slants or drags. The QB will sprint back 20 yards and get perfect protection, throw a perfect pass, and this play will an automatic 6 points. It is an interesting play in theory, but unless the defense is fixed, I am kind of sad to see this put into the game.

I'm wondering how the defense will line up against this. Will the end man on the D-Line Line up on the left guard or the Tight End (A) and also in Man coverage will the nickeback be able to cover the Tight End since he is on the line or will it be covering the left tackle because its lined up at reciever

The easy thing to say is, "Oh, this won't work because of the AI," etc.

Obviously we have no idea how well these types of plays are being implemented, but the fact that they're diversifying the playbooks a little and putting in these gadget plays is a very, very good thing.

I've always thought that the NCAA playbooks were kind of bland and lacked the innovative plays we see every Saturday. I, for one, hope that there's a lot more stuff like this.

If we get Custom Playbooks, I might put this in Wild Tide, Vulcan, and Stallion for offline dynasties... I'd like to see how the play is going to look first, so I may wait until either the demo comes out(I would hope we can use these 25 plays in the demo.) or someone releases a video highlighting these plays... Still keeping my fingers crossed for Shovel Pass Option... I've just got that feeling that it's one of them...

*gasp* A gadget play? Thats preposterous!! So with these new plays, hopefully they fix the defense it will work in the right situation.

A verticals play mixed in with the short passing game. Love it.

For this play to work for real, the left tackle would have to "delay" and pass block for a 2 count, then release....

I guess I like it.
Hopefully they balance it correctly.
