Yep I also agree with that. They definitely seem to know that many of us felt that Madden 11 was disappointing which is thus probably the reason why the first two blogs will be about gameplay, presentation, and franchise mode.

These blogs better be long, if there is ONLY 1 day towards game play. So that means, that from May - July, there will be nothing about game play?? Makes me wonder how many features will be in each one. I usually optimistic, so I hope these blogs talk about at least 3-4 big features that don't have to be similar. Like for gameplay, I hope all aspects are talked about from special teams to oline run blocking, to penalties, to passing, to defense and tackling.

Well then you probably won't be buying it.

Kills me how guys expect Madden to look like an ENTIRELY different game. Its still Madden.

I think Franchise mode is going to emphasize your star player. I say this because of the way we are voting for the cover and how Madden covers correlate sometimes with a feature of the game. If they could just make Franchise mode like the 07 PS2 game I would be excited. I loved the Player Roles the way my running back would start out fast in the beginning of the season then kind of slow down the next. The way they handled injuries where some players had lingering ailments. The newspaper even the PDA where players would tell you they were mad about being on the bock or how they were going to go hard against there old team. I mean why did they even take this stuff out? Stupid question surely but Ive been unsatisfied for so long with the progress of this game that i cant contain it.

May 16 will determine if I even think about buying Madden. I think it is about time for Custom playbooks. Both Madden and NCAA had some time type of hint for Custom Playbooks being in next year. Gameflow and the abilty to set up plays for each down and NCAA had 120 ways to win/playbooks.

Maybe its just me but I could careless about the ultimate team crap. It just seems like another way for EA to make money. Focus on the actual game on the field. Make it a true football experience like MLB 11 The Show is for baseball. Just my opinion.

I 1000% agree. Nothing against the people who likes it, but I dont like it. I guess it is a new feature that is suppose to bring new gamers to Madden

Co-sign...However, I don't think it's "just" a money maker. I play without buying coins occasionally when I'm bored of the other modes. I definitely see what you mean though.

It does lead into the category of "please spend money, it makes it much easier"...As a business I get that and it's a great decision, as a gamer I find that being the main reason I play it so rarely. I'm not cheap, I'll buy any DLC I find worth it..but coins to build a team of players when I could do the same in franchise for free doesn't strike me as a must-buy...Which I'm pretty sure is your point exactly.

There is certain DLCs I will buy and some I wont. MUT is not one of them. I was disappointed that Madden Moments weekly was not free. The game is already $60. I dont want to spend another 10+ on DLCs. I will spend money on DLC for either gameplay or something that makes things simplier or saves time ex. Draft scouting

I get more bang for my buck out of Madden than any other game I buy every year, I don't mind spending a couple extra bucks on things that extend the enjoyment of the game further. Aside from the occasional MMO, there's nothing I've bough on a console in the last few years that I've played more than that years Madden and/or NCAA.

I'm not sure I've spent any money on MUT, but it's obvious people do and it's an actively used feature.

I agree aswell. I could never get into MUT. I guess some people like it and all. But for me I wheather see them focus on the offline franchise mode and gameplay most of all. MUT is a little side fun type deal for people who like stuff like that.

If you going to give me DLC don't make it coins. Let me download new cut scenes or stuff to change up presentation and make it fresh.

If x-books really are custom playbooks and they work the way they should then x-books combined with improved gameplanning should help us get a better challenge out of the cpu. We should be able to create custom playbooks for each team, throw out the useless 8 man blitzes, tune the frequency and situational usage of certain plays using gameplanning which should overall give us significantly better CPU Playcalling.
Hopefully, x-books will work this way AND we'll be able to share them on PSN & XBL.

I agree. MUT isnt for me and I would never spend money on card packs for it. However, I did purchase the AFL DLC for Madden 10 to change things up a little (i hate to admit it though, because I think this stuff should be included)

# 56 BobbyColtrane @ 03/22/11 05:44 PM
it would be great if "x-books" meant the plays are updated week-to-week as the season progresses. Similar to how we have periodic roster updates during the season. Say your team runs a play on Sunday, have the option to add that play to the playbook or have it update automatically.

If you watch the teaser video than you will see everything on the list above. My decision will be made, if i'm going to buy madden or not, on April 28 when they drop a game play blog.

# 58 jWILL253 @ 03/22/11 07:12 PM
Just so you guys know, they probably won't stick to the info release dates, or at least not entirely.

Usually, when a sports game is close to release, little tidbits about the game's features are given out (via Twitter, interviews, or Community Day events) without going in-dept about such features until the blogs come out.

So, don't worry about hiding until mid April; you might miss out on something...

Yeah I was thinking the same exact thing.

Well I hope its little tidbits here and there and not just here's all the gamplay improvements and end enjoy. I like the hunt of looking for every little info I can find. Its a yearly obsession with me.
