BRISTOL, Tenn. – Many race fans have dreamed of the day they can slide behind the wheel of a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series machine and rocket around the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway.
Now, thanks to a special GameStop Racing and NASCAR The Game 2011 ticket offer, race fans will have that chance…at least, virtually.
Through the GameStop Racing package, race fans can purchase two tickets to the March 20 Jeff Byrd 500 Presented by Food City for $150 and receive a $20 GameStop gift card for free.
Additionally, fans who buy four tickets for the March 19 Scotts EZ Seed 300 for $180 through the promotion also will receive a $20 GameStop gift card for free.
Race fans may want to put that GameStop gift card toward the purchase of NASCAR The Game 2011 when it releases for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on March 29 and Wii on April 12. The game features all of the intensity of competing on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit and, even better for Bristol fans, the game’s designers chose to put BMS on the cover to highlight what is found within the game.
“When we first sat down to talk about what we were going to do for the box cover,” explained Ed Martin, Executive Vice President, Eutechnyx North America, “I think the easiest decision we had to make was the background; the right track to use. It was unanimous from the outset, we had to use Bristol. Bristol embodies everything that is cool about the sport and about our game. Our game is about pack racing, damage, excitement, everything Bristol is.”
Martin, who has worked on several previous NASCAR video game projects, said Bristol is the perfect place to catch the essence of the sport.
“I have seen some of the greatest races of my life at that track and have unbelievable memories,” he continued. “It is always exciting and action is always around you and that is what we want to get across in the game.
“They say a picture has to tell a thousand words. We have to do that in a few seconds when someone is walking by, whether a motorsports gamer or a NASCAR fan. They’ll glance at the box and you have to get that image across that this is a cool game. By setting the cover at Bristol, I think it is going to catch everyone’s eye.”
Fans can live the ultimate motorsports experience in Bristol, and then take on the World’s Fastest Half-Mile themselves in NASCAR The Game 2011 which is developed by Eutechnyx and published by Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI). The game is rated E (Everyone) by the ESRB.
