The boys at NLSC are putting in work, as they have released the 2nd beta for NCAA March Madness 2K11. This is becoming a very popular NBA 2K11 PC mod, with March Madness just around the corner.
Quote:
"This updated version has 60 teams spread over two different roster files, accuratish courts for each team, and accurate home, away, and alternate jerseys for each team."
Just so everyone knows, we had a blunder in the Roster department messing up all the ratings. A follow up version with proper cyberfaces, fixes to the roster, and Association mode support should be up by Selection Sunday.
It is an NBA game reskinned to look like NCAA players and teams.
I asked people here and a few other forums about how I could make NBA 2K11 play more like a college basketball game but it fell on deaf ears evidently. So it's literally CH 2K8 ratings (well, once the roster fix is out) in the NBA 2K11 engine.
Does the mod change the shot clock time, and game time from quarters to halves, or is it still nba settings/rule?
It may not be in the mod, but I hope there's some way to do this. It may not be possible to change from quarters to halves (although I'd like to do halves), but I'd be interested in figuring out how to change the length of the shot clock to 35 seconds on the PC version of 2K11. (if possible)
This game is sick! I would pay $60 just for the college version. Jaosming two questions. 1. Will you upload a Tennessee pic on here and 2. Do you have something where users can donate? I read on the other forum that you are a student and maybe if people donate you will have motivation to do this yearly. Thanks.
I downloaded the second beta and the teams look great. Some uniforms need work and more importantly most players have generic faces. Will there eventually be cyberface updates for all the players on all the teams?
Here is NCAA MM 1. ROS with all the teams collar changes. Put this file in your NBA 2K11 save folder. Make sure you put this cf in too in your NBA 2K11 game folder
The duke boys Miles and Mason has been straightened out too. This particular cf is Mason
I have no time right now to change them myself. So If any other uniform makers wants to release their uniforms with the V Shaped collar, let them
I have been working on the databases quite alot here lately and more is being done too.
Now the association, season, playoffs all work and also you can export and import teams in association, season modes
I will still be working on this file. So this is still a beta copy V2.3 of the database.
Here is the list for the collar changes for the V-Shaped
San Diego State
Duke
Purdue
Ohio State
Brigham Young
Florida
Kentucky
Texas
Syracuse
Pittsburgh
St. John's
North Carolina
Arizona
Villanova

simgamer0005, there is no way to change the gameplay from NBA time rules and quarters.
Zasnow, sorry, I dont have any previews on me, if I remember next time I play Ill take one for you.
And I won't be accepting any donations. This has always been a hobby of mine and I dont want to feel any pressure or turn it into anything other than a passtime.
simgamer0005 v2, no, there will not be a full CF update for every player.
cjallure24, thanks man.
As an FYI, I've "moved on" from the mod, even though the exposure here, Kotaku, and at our main site has been great, but since we are at the end of the NCAA season I am going to start working on other mods such as "All Pro Basketball" (legends, generic teams), Men's League, better Street mod, and maybe FIBA.
Baseball88 (aka Baseball110) has been doing more updates (as seen above) but he'll be moving on to other games including the PC version of MLB 2K11.
If you haven't seen it, Hawks Phan put together a short teaser. Check it.
Ok, I have downloaded the NCAA March Madness 2k11 2nd Beta Release for (PC) and installed everything. Boy, I was blown away for the work the guys have done. I was also wondering if there are any plans on making the teams that won NCAA Tournament Champions and I have seen some of teams have already been made.
There are old school teams?
That's awesome, as fast as these players go pro, I don't know anyone on the court.
Where is Michigan 93?
Allow those old school teams to be entered into a tournament. Don't know why EA never lets you do that.
I kinda want the PC version just so I can get this
It is really cool. I absolutely love the PC version of 2K11. The game had a few problems at launch, but after the PC patch finally came out the game is awesome and the sliders seem to work better. They fixed the charging and the PC version looks great with the right settings. The NCAA March Madness 2K11 2nd Beta Release is a great accomplishment. Those who made it happen did a great job. With that said, there's still a lot of errors to the teams and rosters, mostly generic faces and what not. It doesn't sound like there are any future updates scheduled for the mod, but you never know maybe the rosters can be refined. At least the template was provided and now it's easier for us to improve the teams through iff editing and what not. If anyone wants to work with me on improving the existing 2nd beta rosters, I'm all about it!
