2K Sports has posted MLB 2K11 Developer Diary #5, as senior producer, Mark Little dives into Franchise and My Player modes.
Quote:
"Let’s get started talking about our changes to Franchise mode for MLB 2K11. A huge component of Franchise mode for baseball is player development and management. More than most sports, in baseball, finding and nurturing young talent is the key for long term Franchise success unless you can afford to go but the talent at top dollar when they hit their prime. (Not mentioning any names… Yankees cough cough Phillies cough). Additionally, knowing when and who you should re-sign or release can make or break a team for years to come. So we started by reworking how you, as a manager of the franchise, can evaluate players and talent."
I am absolutely astounded by how poorly this has been handled. I've never paid attention to the tweets, updates, etc. provided or promised by Ronnie and the crew until this year, and I am dumbfounded by this lack of follow-through.

I'm not. This is par for the course for this company. It has no marketing or promotional sense. All they do is promote the hell out of their million dollar contest. And they hope that is what gets people to buy the game. That, and the fact they have 360 owners by the short hairs.
They feel they don't need to give us info or provide advance review copies of the game, hence the alarmingly scarce number of reviews a week after release. I can't recall many, if any, games with practically no reviews this late after release.
