Sigh.

Can we get something more then this? How lackluster.

I say the Knicks got the better deal.. short term and long term. D.Williams isn't guaranteed to resign in NJ/Brooklyn. And the most interesting lineup for me would have to be Boston (with Troy Murphy now).

I did a game by game sim of a 29 game season last night (controlled all 30 teams and simmed each game individually)... the Knicks actually fared worse than they were before. Not sure how that happened exactly but I found that interesting. They ended up ranked #12 in the Eastern Conference.

A little off topic, but still interesting.

The Melo deal was a steal. They traded three players who will never appear in an All Star game for one for a finals MVP and a top 7 player in the league. I found it laughable when people were saying they gave up to much. Their is a Wilson Chandler on every teams bench right now. Gallinari is one of the main reasons the Knicks were terrible on defense. Felton shoots 33% from 3 while Billups shoots 44%.

That trade was worst than the Barkley trade that sent him to Phoenix.

Dustin, one of the people who wrote this article, said the same thing basically I believe. That, essentially, the Nuggets became way better and the Knicks didn't do as well.

I hate that my Knicks had to get rid of Gallo, I really feel like he's gonna be a star if he stays healthy. But on the flipside the leadership that Billups brings is gonna help a ton, and once Melo and Stat learn to feed off eachother they are gonna be a MAJOR problem for anybody. The way they played the other night against the heat brought back some fond memories of that rivalry. If they make some smart moves in the off season, I will finally be able to say I'm a Knicks fan with some pride again lol.

have to disagree with this guy, Knicks got the better player and i would build around melo instead, more talented and way better player overall.... this guy must not be watching the nba, because by no means is d-will arguably the best pg in the league ( a couple of years ago, maybe, but now, no way), lets say D-rose, cp3, and rondo, IMO

Terrible write-up...Absolutely no reasoning behind common knowledge and general info.

Anyways...best new team in 2k11 is the Nuggets. You can't stop Lawson, Smith, iLLWiLL, Gallinari, and Nene.

If Gallo was one of the reasons they were so bad defensively, man are they in for a rude awakening when they go through a full season with Carmelo in his place...

And in regards to one of the other posts (not by you), whoever thinks Rondo is seriously better than DWill is on something mega strong. Top PG in the league is really a 2 or 3 PG battle between CP3, DWill, and Rose, and that's really it. Westbrook and Rondo are in the next tier of PGs with Steve Nash and probably someone else that I'm forgetting.

The worst trade at trade deadline was the Blazers / Bobcats giving up 3 bigs and money for 1 slasher. They (Blazers) have one big left that is active, and he's even alittle banged up.
Blazers get:
• F Gerald Wallace

Bobcats get:
• F Dante Cunningham
• C Joel Przybilla
• C Sean Marks
• 2011 first-round pick (from Hornets) and 2013 first-round pick
• Cash considerations
• Official release
What are the Blazers front office thinking? Do they think LaMarcus Aldridge is going to lead them to the playoffs? If you play with them in 2k11, you would know that they are set with a bunch of dunkers and athletic slashers. They fell way short of things on their 'to do list'. They have one big man to combat the rest of the western conference; and opt injured Camby is not the saviour in any sense. I just watched one of my favroite teams trade themselves out of the playoffs!

Actually imo, Cunningham was their biggest loss (which isn't much)., with the picks and Przybilla a close second. Aldridge may not be the lead player they need but an addition to their defense is more than welcome. I agree they are now short of bigs, but Marks is trash and their bet on there existing bigs getting healthy is more of a winner than if they kept the above.

As for 2K11, I traded for G. Wallace in my Blazers assoc at the end of December, I lol'd when this happened. When i'm controlling the game, offensively he sucks (probably me), but defensively he's a beast, lol

I still don't quite know how I feel about the Knicks/Nuggets trade. The Knicks did get better instantly, but who knows how good Gallo, Chandler, and Felton are going to be. I think getting Billups is very important. He can spread the floor and he will get the ball to Stoudemire and Carmelo better than Felton. I just wish this trade would have happened earlier so we could see this team's full potential before the season is over. I hope they get the chemistry down by playoff time so that they can make a good run and not get eliminated early.

As a Bucks fan, I was upset that nothing was done to improve the roster, but what could be done? Man they suck.

The melo deal was by far the biggest trade. even though the knicks dont have much depth at the momemt they can always pick up a few good players in free agency or draft someone to replace what they lost. But long term, choosing to give up those guys for melo and billups was a very smart move. I'm interested even more in playing with OKC now in 2k11. they are already my favorite team but i always thought that they lacked the presence in the post that would put them over the top. now that they have that i think they are a force to be reckoned with in the west.

Deron Williams was, by far, the biggest trade of this year. There's really no doubt about it. He makes every other person on the roster better, whereas Carmelo, while a superstar, doesn't contribute in all of the ways Deron Williams does.

Williams is going to be the face of that franchise for many years and I honestly do expect Howard to leave the Magic at the end of 2012 for the Nets. Who wouldn't want to go play with Deron Williams? This will only happen if he is willing to give up being the "man" on his team, and I'm not sure if he'd be willing to do that. I think that would be the only thing standing in the way of joining the Nets honestly.

Anyways, I digress. Point is, getting the best point guard in the NBA was a better trade by far.

I think the biggest move was really the combination of the Nets driving up the price for Carmelo and then stealing Deron away from Utah. Mikhail and the rest of the FO did a great job on that one.

the dwill trade wouldve been the best IF he had been able to sign an extension but he cant, and if the nets struggle early next season i could see him asking for a trade... a previous poster said something about the blazers trade for wallace, he said it was stupid.. my question is whether ur talking about 2k or real life.. maybe in the game is was stupid, but aldridge is balling out of his freaking mind the last month or so and come playoff time if roy cant play they will need a perimeter defender who can guard kobe, manu, etc. the only real problem with the trade that i see is that it might stunt batums growth

He won't request a trade nor get one. They have already informed him they will go after top-tier free agents the next two seasons and, barring some animosity towards the Nets for some reason, they will get those top-tier free agents. It's pretty simple really. Best point guard in the league who will score, lead a team, and get you involved as well is the team you want to be on. He's staying with the Nets.
