Looks real good, but like every tennis game I've played, the Aces are missing. Really wish someone could figure out how to make a tennis game that isn't lacking Aces.

Looks pretty nice, but the problem I had in TS3 with the speed and tempo of the match seems to be present here too. It is a tad faster, it seems, but not enough.

I agree 100%. That is part of the strategy of Tennis as the serve is a big weapon for some players and dictates how they win points in most cases. I see it like a football game skipping the kickoff and just having both teams start at the 20 yard line each time. I understand they want to keep things moving in the video game, but those pressure moments of having to guess on serves would be a huge addition.

However, I do see a lot of good things like the off balance floaters and errors as players stretch for balls. That is realistic as it gets. Everything looks balanced between the movements and shots, so it should provide for nice battles between the player styles. I just hope the CPU difficulty is amped up and online servers will be solid to play.

Looks a lot more "alive" than TS3.

Yah servers will make or break it.

Some nice presentation touches. Very hard to judge how it will play until you have the controller in your hands.

The crowd sounds pretty good. I liked the fans yelling for the players between points.

Definitely a lot of good. Aces are the only thing I'll keep complaining over.

But the back-and-forth, the running, the shots, all of it is real nice.

I like the stat overlays: "Longest rally in the game." "This match has been played for 10 minutes." Those are nice touches.

Also like hearing the Public announcer ask the crowd to quiet down. I don't remember that from Top Spin 3.

And just from Murray vs. Agassi you can get a feel for the different styles and strengths. I noticed at one point Andre tired out, but I'm not sure why exactly. I think because he just exerted too much energy reaching for shots on both baselines, but it's still a great inclusion.

In Top Spin 3, players could be "tired" according to the on-screen indicator, but they still played fine. This is why people never put any points into stamina online.

I hope there is more of a penalty for getting "fatigued" in this version.

I wouldn't expect a lot of aces between these two player. Two of the best returners in the game and neither with a dominating serve.

Aw man, gotta go change my shorts now.

The only weird thing I noticed was that a tiny portion of the swing animations look kinda awkward, like the wind up was artificially sped up. Though to be fair, I don't know if they can get rid of that totally with human play. They probably want to be a little forgiving if we swung slightly too late.

I wonder if they made the distinction between Agassi's playing style through the years, like the younger more aggressive Agassi going for winners at every opportunity, compared to the older, more patient, "tire you out" Agassi. That alone would get me to buy the game.

Just added Part 2, enjoy!

I'm not a tennis fan but the game looks beautiful.
If there will be a demo I'll try it out.

I noticed a few quirks with the swings too --- there were a couple times it looked like the ball came off the racket with more pace than it should have for the amount of backswing. But that's just if I'm nit-picking... for the most part the animations look fantastic. Footwork is beautiful.

And the audio to me sounds hugely improved, not just the crowd but across the board.

Loved seeing the miss hit by Murray around the 2:30 mark. Jumping backhands by Agassi looked nice as well. You guys are right about the crowd. Nice tough with the yells between points and the hype during rallies.

Anybody know if there will be a demo for 360 and/or PS3?

# 16 Splitter77 @ 02/25/11 06:15 PM
game looks amazing, but you guys are right. If there arent any aces I'lkl be upset,

I wanna be able to ace out a game like you could in capriati tennis

I wonder if in England, Andy will get more support from the crowd. Only things I noticed I didn't like were the ball boys never moved and how they presented the stats. I wish they had like winners to unforced errors of both players, instead of just saying that was Agassi's 20th winner. Hopefully, some more players on the DLC. Other than that, everything looks awesome, and I hope the demo comes out this Tuesday!!

Does this game run at a locked 60 FPS? I think that will definitely help beautify this game if so.

Agreed. There is real strategy behind serving in this game, and my player got tons of them (despite not having a high serve rating).

Definitely. Haven't played Top Spin 3 in more than a year now, but I remember my crappy serving player can still get a few aces here and there with kick serves at the right moments.
