MLB 11 The Show News Post

The New York Post recently sat down with the cover athlete for MLB 11 The Show Joe Mauer, as they discuss some of the features in the game. Also in the article, they have posted some hands-on impressions.

Quote:
"To put into persepective how realistic The Show is, some Major League pitchers use the game as a scouting tool to look at lineups of opposing teams they will be facing.

"A lot of out pitchers, they like to get a visual of the next team that we play and they set the lineup the way they think it's going to be and just go and face them (in the game)," Mauer said."

Thanks for the post. This caught my eye:

Its awesome to see the pro's playing this game and shows just how accurate the game can be.

Joe Mauer is coming up on the Scott Van Pelt Show on ESPN. They said they are going to be talking about one of the best video games on the market.

I was just about to come post this... Van Pelt said he's never played The Show, and Mauer said he'd see about getting him a ps3.

THAT is cool! If I were in the minor leagues and I was big into this game, I'd do the exact same thing.

What's fun for me is seeing guys like Josh Willingham and Josh Wilson in the game. I was the beat reporter for the Utica Blue Sox (were part of the Marlins organization) when they played short-season Single A ball back in New York-Penn League, so it's really cool to see them doing well in the show.

It is very rewarding to know that guys who I am actually portraying, appreciate it enough to use the rosters.

I ALWAYS trade for the guys that have contacted me in regards to their Full Minors persona!....and usually call them up to the Show for some big league game time!
