Console-quality portable hockey video game experience available now

2K Sports today announced the critically acclaimed NHL® 2K series is entering the tablet rink with NHL 2K11 for iPad™, the first licensed NHL video game for a tablet computer. Available now in the App Store, NHL 2K11 for iPad mirrors NHL 2K11 for iPhone® and iPod touch® with the same control system that was designed from the ground up for the optimum mobile gaming experience, while being refined to match the iPad’s distinct resolution and screen size. NHL 2K11 for iPad also uses animations and graphics taken from the console version of the game with fully-realized Season, Shootout and Free Skate modes. Setting it apart from previous iterations of the game, NHL 2K11 for iPad introduces the brand new Winter Classic Mode that emulates the premier NHL outdoor hockey event. Additionally, a new control scheme has been added to enable single finger control, freeing up the other hand to hold the iPad. 2K Sports is offering the game on iPad for the introductory price of $4.99.

Not bad really for the price and the fact you actually get a full season to play as well. The gameplay is fun and can be tweeked to your liking for the most part. The only bad thing is none of the rookies are on the rosters.
