EA SPORTS Madden NFL 11 Predicts Pittsburgh Steelers to win Super Bowl XLV

In a battle of storied NFL franchises, the Pittsburgh Steelers win their record seventh Vince Lombardi Trophy, defeating the Green Bay Packers 24-20 in Super Bowl XLV, according to the annual EA SPORTSTM Super Bowl Simulation powered by Madden NFL 11.

Down 13-17 going into the fourth quarter, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers hit James Jones in the end zone to put the Pack up by three points with nine minutes left in the game. The defense for both teams kept the score tight throughout most of the fourth quarter, with neither willing to budge. After the two minute warning, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger hit Mike Wallace on a slant, and the wide receiver's world-class speed helped outrace the Packers defense for a 36 yard touchdown pass; giving Pittsburgh the lead with 1:20 left on the clock. With no timeouts, Rodgers led Green Bay into Pittsburgh territory as the nail-biting contest drew to a close. In a last second desperation attempt, Rodgers targeted receiver Jordy Nelson, but Steelers safety, Ryan Clark, picked off the pass, clinching Pittsburgh's Super Bowl XLV victory. Pittsburgh wide receiver Mike Wallace was named Super Bowl MVP with five catches for 111 total yards and a touchdown.

Steve, as I am sure you would agree with me, I really hope this prediction holds true. They are 6-0 so far on guessing the SB winner.

Which Ohio team are you a fan of that we swept this year??

A Green Bay QB effectively ending a big playoff game with an INT?

Madden knows we don't have Favre anymore, right?

Teams that make three Super Bowls in six years are hardly overrated... especially when they aren't even the team favored by the odds makers to win this game, lol.

Overrated... I love when people spew nonsense

The Bears had their chance the last game of the season to knock the Pack out of the playoffs.

Common GB, don't let the steelers win a 7th trophy.

7 wins for Pitt is bad for the game.

I don't want football to turn into baseball and Basketball where only a few teams ever ever are any good.

It's the Lakers, Celtics, and Yankees all over again.

Am I the only one who can't actually watch these EA videos? I mean I get the music and single screen shot like images from time to time, but no full motion video. It's like this with all of EA's streaming videos. I can watch YouTube and such just fine, but not EA's promotional videos and "EA SPORTS WORLD" replays.

Lol, well I understand that... doesn't mean I have to cheer for the Packers though. That would be a cold day in Hell my friend

They are 6 out of the last 7. Madden picked the Pats over the Giants.

Nope, you are doing the same as I did in 06.

Amazing madden is 6-7 in the superbowls to me. Especially after reading the Madden sims the playoffs article where Madden failed to predict 1 correct team to play in the championship round. In fact, both Green Bay and Pitt were predicted to be 1 and done.

I think everybody is predicting the GB/Pitt score way too high. I'll be impressed if any team scores higher than 10 pts.

I wouldn't be surprised, but I easily see it going as high as 35-31 if it wanted to.

Both teams will pass a lot, and both have good defenses. Steelers have Mendenhall, but the Packers could plug anyone in at RB and make it work at the moment. It's probably the most even SB of the past 5 years, IMO.

idk but in real life GB WON

# 20 PGaither84 @ 02/07/11 01:08 AM
So, does this mean the packers get a game made after them now?

While Fitz was in Madden 10, it was mostly a Steelers game, and well, let's not kid ourselves, Madden 11 is all about the Saints.
