The blocking system has me intrigued and cautiously psyched.

The online team gym matches might be fun.

Same here, but wasn't punching from the guard removed or at the very least just cosmetic? I read something on the EA boards about it and quite a few people were not too happy.

Looks like the online gym is similar to EA MMA's fight cards but hold ratings etc. This kind of thing really gets me psyched. I won't go without saying the footwork still looks sluggish, but I can't wait to get this game and have some fun with it.

I look forward to seeing the continued story of Johnny Barbosa

ok that video got me pumped. like the ice bag in the corner . blocking from the guard has potential. I like the online gyms and team gym challenges. I'm not going to state the obvious, but looking good.

I didn't know about that till now. Apparently Brizzo said that in it's current state it is too exploitable.

JayBee, I missed what he said. I only read a few posts from the EA board. Do you remember what he said? I remember reading something about the animation still being in the game, but it will not change the damage received. Or maybe it's completely removed.

No, actually I didn't see the direct quote on the EA boards. That's why i used "apparently".

As you said there were some very unhappy campers on the EA board.

Bottom line-if it creates a cheese fest then it's better gone.

It's a great looking game I'll give them that... But the punches still lack sting and we all know the sluggish footwork. Hopefully Championship 2 will have a revised footwork engine...

Tough to get excited with the footwork untouched. It should've been the next thing they worked on after the new punching. I wish EA would adopt this philosophy for all of their games. If you work on one element, work on it's direct counter as well.

They still releasing this every 2 years? Hopefully I haven't retired from sports video gaming before they address the footwork.
