Would be nice if they just showed the person with the controller on the screen, and the controller was replaced by the baseball bat. Only problem is you would have to stand like 8-10 feet away from the camera to get your whole body in frame though.
And you would be faced forwards, not backwards.

Huh? You would be facing sideways, like you would if you were playing the game.

Wait, let's refresh.

Let's pretend the TV is the pitcher. If you were to bat, that's how you would face, correct? Forget forwards, backwards, sideways. You would face the television as if you were batting against it.

Now if the camera was also positioned alongside the television, that would mean it's capturing that part of you, not the other way around. When we play from the batter camera as opposed to the pitcher camera, the webcam should technically be behind us if it wanted to capture us.

I hope that makes sense.

Asking to cater to simply the "sim players" would be foolish of them.

They do a nice job of catering to all groups, even if the game does have a "sim" slant. That doesn't mean they should close off any chance of making the game accessible and fun to those that are "casual" buyers.
Exactly....
IMO they almost had to have some sort of MOVE support. You cant have your flagship title not have it. While it would be cool to be in RTTS mode I'm fine its only on HRD right now.

As long as no trophies are in this years game like "hit a homerun in HRD using Move" I am perfectly content with this addition.

I'm pretty sure (I'd bet, actually) that Sony mandated it to be included somehow.

Either way, from my experience it's a pretty fun addition that I can see my family utilizing at parties. It reminds me of the Wii's baseball game in Wii Sports... only you don't need a Wii now.

There are some pretty crazy and funny trophies in it this year. Kolbe is a mastermind and a masochist with his ideas.

I don't understand.

Why would you have a problem with move-specific trophies?

If someone wanted to go platinum and couldn't because they didn't have the Move accessory, I could see why there might be a problem.

How many guys are platinum?...or even close.
I would think that if there was a HR derby/w MOVE trophy and that was the only one holding you back from completing the list....the guys at SCEA would send you one!
I don't there are specific trophies requiring MOVE though. I could be wrong though. I think aukevin looked long and hard at the list. Maybe he could tell you.

I only need two more trophies to platinum MLB 10 The show. The 500 MLB points one and join an online league.

Yeah, this exactly is why wouldn't want a Move trophy. I'm a big trophy guy and wouldn't like it if Move was costing me a platinum.

Technically, platinum would be costing you a Move.

Oh, well I guess that would be pretty tragic...

For me, there are two incentives: game replayability and visual earnest for your accomplishments. I know that it's not much to say I hit a home run with a Move controller, but it's a lot for me to say I got all the trophies in a game, and the platinum for most games happens to be that very trophy.

the controller is the way to go. I'm old school.

# 40 jupebox @ 03/13/11 05:58 PM
I didn't think that the HR derby with Move support would be that great, but honestly, it was pretty fun. I didn't mind the invisible man... for me it's better than cheap graphics... Keep in mind that I was playing this with my son who is 7, but we both had a great time.

My only complaint is that it's not included with the rest of the game. I assume they ran out of time... I also assume it's a long shot to assume for a download update? (My assumption is that they'll wait for MLB 12 rather than include it.)

I like the stats and sim options, too, which is why I play MLB the Show, but it's great to have this option. It's kind of a mix between arcade and real hitting. There are no flashing lights or anything too ridiculous.
