I know what kind of follow-through you're talking about. Bonds had to start doing this when he couldn't rotate about his back foot but rather only swing with his back side because of his knee, therefore he had to replant his back foot since the insane amount of torque he creates made him have to catch his balance with his back foot that couldn't turn through the swing.

That was a poorly constructed sentence, but it was just as a result of answering where I've seen it before, even though it wasn't exactly the same (here Huff is "falling," Bonds just needed to catch up his back side). Huff does not do it though, and you're right. As a hitting coach, I even analyze and scrutinize the MLB players. Huff never does this, and I watched the Giants play all year. It's probably just a way that SCEA has the players start getting out of the box. It would be nice to see some variation someday though.

Exactly. It does seem to be a generic follow-through for most, if not all, left-handed batters (right-handed batters also have a generic follow-through). I don't mind that the players have the same follow-through, and I understand that there's probably limitations to having a variety of them. It just doesn't look like the momentum of the swing is carrying them enough. It reminds me more of a tennis swing.

However, it's something relatively small, and it never took away from all the other aspects of the presentation.

I was floored when the Dev mentioned how they changed the slider aspects and the improvement system for Road to the Show. I'm absolutely going to love that mode

Probably not. I wonder if speed will be restricted (as in being able to improve to a certain degree, since in my opinion a player with 40 speed at the start of RTTS should not be able to improve up to 70+. I think it might be possible to develop the power for a speedy contact hitter, but it'd take a lot longer.

I think with the options you can start off a lot higher as a contact hitter, a speedster, defender, or a power hitter, but if a player wants to go 5-tool, neither of those ratings would be as high as the ratings of those players mentioned earlier at the start. I can't wait until community day for more information.

I've got 2 questions:
1. can u pitch with the sticks AND bat with the buttons => choosing the controls separately?

2. will EVERYBODY be able to win prizes in the weekly challenges or will it be restricted to north american players only?

btw: great interview, I'm always excited to hear sth. about the new game

I believe that I read earlier that you could mix and match control sets any way you wanted to between the three positions. In other words have each hitting, pitching, and fielding be a separate control set.

As far as prizes I can't help you with that one. Sorry

I really like the fact that the development crew has made a conscious effort to make the game more accessible to first-time players of The Show. This game is so great and deserves to be enjoyed by a wider audience.

The great thing is that while they are doing a good job of introducing the game to people that haven't played The Show before -- or played it, got frustrated/overwhelmed and quit playing -- they are once again building on top of what has been a very solid foundation for the long-time players.
