NCAA Basketball 2K11 Beta Mod Available Now, Trailer Included (NLSC)

NLSC has released a trailer for the recently released NCAA Basketball 2K11 Beta mod, for the PC version of NBA 2K11.

Boggles my mind that 2K refuses to resurrect this franchise. Even if they decided to release it on a semi annual basis and basically re skin a previous version of NBA 2K, they would turn some type of profit. Look at the popularity of these mods, and even College Hoops 2K8 which is still running strong with updated rosters.

Hell, why not just include a separate disc with NBA2K and sell the package for $79.99. Then allow your My Player guy to start in college and work his way to the NBA.

There has to be a way to get another College Hoops game. Please 2K...what's it going to take?

Just traded in my PS3 version for the PC version, so that I can have more flexibility for posting about my dynasty. I can't wait to try this update.

First, thank you Steve for reposting this here! I hope to get higher quality versions of this released before College Basketball really heats up.

I want to remind everyone here that I used raiderfan247365's 2011 roster for College Hoops 2K8 360 as a base for the ratings in this mod. Also the mod is currently using uniforms from the NCAA 2K10 mod so credit to byczek and the others for that.

If you guys have suggestions, questions, or need any help with the mod feel free to contact me at the NLSC, here through PM, or commenting on this post. Remember, this mod was created with the NBA in mind, so no files are overwritten with it. To play NCAA all you have to do is load the roster, and to switch back to the NBA just load another roster. No conflicts, no need for a second installation!

i dont see the point of not releasing CH2K. sure they dont have to release every year like the NBA 2K, but at least have CH every 2-3 years. just have the gamers the option to share their modded rosters.

just imagine if you have CH2K pattern after the NBA 2K11...man that would be awesome.

You'd lose the amount of improvement the NBA game has. Look at what they finally were able to accomplish without a college game to work on.

And I doubt the NBA or NCAA would allow the games to be bundled. Two completely separate entities that want their own profits.

I would buy it. I complete agree that if they just re-skin the NBA 2k11 engine with the NCAA game from College Hooops 2k8, I would be in heaven.

I just got college hoops 2k8 6 months ago. I'll be trying this out soon and hope ncaa 2k12 comes out next year.

It would be two different teams working on each game, and what kind of profits is the NCAA currently getting from a bball game??

The NCAA guys and NBA guys overlap. I'm sure some are even working on other products now.

It's not as simple as just assigning guys to do it without sacrificing other games.

And the NCAA Profits thing is on them. They shouldn't have been greedy. We'd still have 2 games.

It's going to take the NCAA to lower their asking price for the license I'm guessing Bubble. That is the reason I believe that they did not continue in the 1st place. Even EA with all the cash they have and no competition decided to stop making the product. Maybe a NCAA hoop product probably doesn't generate the same financial return as Football when u take into account the cost of the license and how many actual copies they sell. I doubt that college hoops 2k ever sold half as many copies as NCAA Football even in 2k's best sales year.

I would love to see another CH 2k as well, but given 2k's shaky financial footing with the long standing rumored take over's and layoffs I doubt if they are willing to shell out the cash for a license which may not help them firmly establish them economically and provide huge returns.

Too bad UCLA isn't in this mod, and that its just college teams playing nba style basketball. 4 quarters instead of 2 halves, nba shot clock etc. However it feels more like college with more turnoffs and more missed shots.

There is no money in Choops fellas. BOttom line not enough money to be made vs the effort. And you guys are talking that reskin mess now but once the game came out you would be like. MAN they didn't even touch dynasty and what about these bugs.... ROTFLOL

I think their is a market for college B-ball and Football. With how amazing 2k11 is.. If they make a college game.. that would make sense. financally. I know they stopped back when 2k8 was made, but the Ncaa wants revenue from the video game market, and with ea not renewing, this would be a perfect time for 2k to show the ncaa nba2k11, and say this we will create for you.. I would buy it.

It's ALWAYS like that here. A handful of guys say just sell the game with college rules and uni's and when it comes out - BOOM: "2k is nothing but a money hungry company with bug ridden games taking advantage of the consumer."

Well, it's better to "Re-Skin" and complain than never to have "Re-Skinned" at all!! I for one will be completely happy with a CH2k12 with NBA 2k gameplay and CH2k8 dynasty. That's all I need!! Im still playing CH 2k8 just because of the thrill of recruiting, but the gameplay is soooooooooooooo far behind compared to NBA 2k11
