Thanks to OS for putting this news up, lots of good stuff going on at iRacing.

The Landon Cassill Qualifying Challenge was probably one of the coolest events there has been at iRacing. Landon, a Sprint Cup driver, put up $2000 for a one lap challenge with a fixed setup, to see who could stand the pressure with the money on the line. The event started with ~140 drivers who all ran preliminary events, from there the top 40 were taken to the finals, each driver went out one at a time for one lap, and a shot at $1000 for first place. The broadcast is linked above (the ustream link under the LCQC)

Another really cool thing was seeing the video about Greger Huttu (World's Fastest Alien), a sim racer from Finland who is probably the best sim racer out there. He was given a chance of a lifetime to drive at the Skip Barber Driving School, and then do a test with Andersen Racing in a Star Mazda car at Road Atlanta. Its a really great video to watch and is up at iRacing.tv

iRacing keeps expanding across the globe, with the release of Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, and four soon to be released tracks from Japan. Along with this new cars are still coming out quarterly, with the Street Stock that was just released (free to all members) and the Williams F1, which came out a few months ago. There are two more cars coming that have yet to be publicly announced and hopefully in the next update there will be news on them.

Wow... that is a terrific story on Greger Huttu. Thanks for sharing.
