Gold: College Hoops 2K Legacy Mode
When College Hoops started generating buzz across the hoops nation, it was not just because of the overall gameplay and feel of the franchise, it was because of how deep you could go in Legacy mode. The depth of the mode has yet to be topped by any other franchise. Not only was it deep, but the option of Open and Closed Legacy added another angle to the game. Being forced to develop your college credentials at a terrible school before working your way up to a school like North Carolina is a feeling that everyone should experience at least once. From recruiting to scheduling to the coaching carousel, Legacy mode has, and always will be one of the top modes in any sports video game.
Silver: MLB: The Show Franchise Mode
MLB: The Show has finally given consumers a baseball game worth playing. Not only is the gameplay superb, but the Franchise mode is, to say the least, amazing. With total control over your club’s farm system, you can build prospects up from the bottom to the top. Though the farm system is arguably the most fun and interactive part of Franchise mode, it does not stop there. With the ability to change prices and add features to a stadium, The Show’s franchise won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
Readers Choice': College Hoops 2K's Legacy Mode
Our readers were right in line with the staff with this category, as College Hoops 2K won by a comfortable margin. However, MLB: The Show's Franchise mode was the second favorite of OSers and had a sizable portion of the vote go its way as well. After The Show's Franchise mode, both NCAA Football and NBA 2K had strong showings in this category as well.
