If you`re trying to get it across from that deep by just using a normal pass, when there is a defender there,...nope,it`s tough to make the play, you have to thread the pass between legs or between stick and body,......but it`s the low percentage pass option.
The saucer pass is the pass option to use for these situations.
yes, but i have seen CPU defender sticks act as if it were a frog's tongue to the puck, when a real player would have had no time to react to a cross-crease pass that quickly, so i think it's definitely something they did with the programming, although it does still work on breakaways thankfully

Yeah I've really learned this year, that I am (just like in real hockey) trying to get passes close to the opponents skates, as it's easier to get a pass through close to the body.
The one timers from the slot and crease are harder because the CPU's D are near perfect in blocking the passing lanes tape-to-tape, however passes through their legs or close to the skates are often available, but then again the puck do not end up on your team mates blade.
But on my offline slider I have the pass intercetions lowered, so to avoid those amazing "bend and stretch the stick around your body and intercept behind your back interceptions".
Yep, it's still near-impossible to pull that play off. I'd still like to see this loosened up a bit but I'm glad that it's not like NHL 10 where you could pull that pass off pretty much at will and score 2-3 goals a game that way.
I feel the same way DJ about the ease of this pass in NHL '10'.
Yep...it was too easy last year. So overall, I'm cool with the way things have been adjusted for '11'. Like you DJ...I'd rather have the devs be on the side of caution with something like this.
One of the things I like most about the NHL game is...for me, and my low skill level, I have no "go to plays". That have a high percentage of success. It's great for me not to have to deal with any "House rules". That kinda thing really hampers the fun of a sports game.

My pass interceptions slider is at 0 and those plays still happen.
I am extremely disappointed that OTLs do not get credited with a point in the standings in Season Mode for any of the CHL leagues. I wanted to play a season in the CHL while waiting for the AHL rosters to get straightened out (so I can start BAGM with the Penguins). Sucks, but I've just gone back to NCAA Football 11 and CH2k8 in the interim.
Well...I'm spending way too much time on the ice. Usually half of a period or more. Before the patch and the new tuners, I could see reasonable numbers. Especially considering im a 3rd line D guy
I just got done playing my 20th game in my Hawks season and am really enjoying it. I'm glad that the puck gets intercepted at a more frequent rate than NHL 10 even though it might be overdone. It forces you to move the puck and create better chances. It really makes you pump your fist when you score because you feel that you earned it. Also, I've had blowouts, been blown out, close games, and OT games.
Also, I've seen a few penalty shots as well as a couple of reviewed goals. One of the reviewed goals was one in which Getzlaf lost his stick and kicked it in. It was reviewed and counted. I was watching that and smiling. Of course I was talking to the TV and saying No goal No goal He kicked it in.
So far I'm 11-8-1. I'm loving this game. It's much better than NHL 10.
