The Madden NFL 11 title update #4 adds a number of improvements to Madden NFL 11�s overall gameplay experience, including exciting new features for Madden Ultimate Team. The �Rivals Pack� delivers three major new features for Ultimate Team, allowing players to make new rivals in �Tournaments�, face off against old rivals in �Play vs. Friends� and renew rivalries through �Refer a Friend�.

Madden Ultimate Team �Rivals Pack�: Tournaments
Enter a tournament to go up against another player in an attempt to advance to the next round and earn coins.

There are currently 15 available tournaments, with more to come on a weekly basis (just like collections). Of the 15 tournaments, five can be described as easy, five as medium difficulty and five as hard:

Name: Rookie Tournament
Entrance Requirements: Requires 10 rookies in your deck
Rounds: 10

Name: CPU Crusher
Entrance Requirements: Requires 10 wins vs. the CPU

Name: No Requirement Tourney

Name: Bronze Card Tournament
Entrance Requirements: Requires 10 bronze cards in your deck

Name: Team Chemistry Tournament
Entrance Requirements: Requires Team Chemistry between 75 and 100
Rounds: 8

Name: Gold Card Tournament
Entrance Requirements: Requires 10 Gold Cards in your deck
Rounds: 10

Name: Team Skill Tournament
Entrance Requirements: Requires Team Skill between 70 and 80
Rounds: 10

Name: 80 Overall QB Tournament
Entrance Requirements: Requires a QB on your team that has an overall of 80 or better

Name: Eagles Running Game 2nd Edition
Entrance Requirements: Requires 2nd Edition LeSean McCoy, Michael Vick and Owen Schmitt cards

Name: 750k Card Value Tournament

Madden Ultimate Team �Rivals Pack�: Play with Friends
Challenge your friends to a game of Madden Ultimate Team anytime they are online.

Madden Ultimate Team �Rivals Pack�: Refer a Friend
Earn coins for getting your friends to join Madden Ultimate Team. A new screen has been added that allows you to keep track of your invites and your rewards from the friends that have accepted the referral.

In addition to these Madden Ultimate Team features, today�s title update also delivers uniform updates, including alternate Vikings jerseys featuring the 50th anniversary patch, the current Redskins home and away uniforms, the Chargers powder blue uniform and a uniform top for the Saints that includes the Super Bowl Champions patch.

Content Updates

Fixed a couple of random Madden Moments LIVE crashes.
Fixed the user�s ability to view play art manually if the opponent on defense holds LT/L2 pre-snap.
Fixed an exploit where the user could audible when coming out in the Bronco Heavy formation with a HB or WR at QB.
Fixed an exploit where after pressing the square/X button on defense a user is able to hold down on the L-stick which allows the defender to release off the line of scrimmage and go after the QB as soon as the ball is hiked.
Fixed a hanging issue with onside kicks in Madden Moments LIVE and offline Madden Moments.

I was in the middle of a 3 user team franchise with family members and after the new patch we can no longer switch between user teams. It is stuck on one user team. Has anyone else had this problem.

It gets attributed to Ian (via Twitter) a lot, but I don't remember ever seeing it actually mentioned by him. Of course, this being the internet, all it took was for one person to say they heard it from Ian, not provide proof, and then it spreads.

Maybe a source exists somewhere, but I've never seen it myself. I know that doesn't answer your question, but you're not the only one wondering where this has come from.

Couple people earlier in the thread said they couldn't open their franchise and another said his 3 user franchise didn't work either. I haven't downloaded it yet, so I want to make sure it doesn't break anything before I do.

In this video, around 3:50, Phil says there are over 900 QB vs. QB intros. I should just point out that this is actually impossible!

Ian just posted on his twitter that, "divisional matchups seem to work. others are generic..."

So, either Ian is lying that they didn't fix bug or this guy seriously over exaggerates and can't count. If it was just divisional comparison, there would be 48 intros, but I think there is a few others, so 60 would be more accurate than 900!!!!

Played an online franchise game after DL the patch.

No disconnect for me. I was thrilled. I Hope it is a sign that it really worked. I dropped from this league because of the constant DC's but was abel to get my team back post patch and give it a shot.

So far so good.

I started a new franchise last night (simmed first season) and tried to play the opening game (season 2). The Steelers, my opponent, had the proper depth chart but Rothelesberger wasn't playing, nor was he injured. Does anyone else see this kind of thing happening? I am fed up with Madden.

I haven't tried. To tell you the truth, I think I am giving up on Madden. I am strictly an offline franchise user and they haven't improved the mode for years. Meanwhile the EA NHL franchise gets better every year. It looks like I am going to trade the Madden in for MLB The Show - my Giants are in the World Series and I am inspired to try a new game.

I downloaded the patch tonight, same sliders and all. The last 2 games, I won my games too easily and was bored. I kept Peyton Manning to 97 yards passing on 15 minute quarters. he went 7 of 36 on passing. I've been seeing the generic qb intro thing for every game. Tonight, I had eagles vs my cowboys late in the season. In the intro, they talked about the Kolb/McNabb storyline with Romo and writing a new chapter in this rivalry. The game seemed to play a lot more like a chess match. I didn't score a single touchdown until the 4th quarter, knocking in 3 field goals the first 3 quarters, and was 24 to 9. I ended up beating Eagles 25 to 24 with a last second field goal at the end of regulation. The game played very nice, the players seemed to play harder, I seen more animations than I usually do, better tackling, etc. The game just seemed different. Placebo? Possibly, but the game was so much fun. I was sweating bullets by the end of the game. I finished with over 420 yards passing and 2 tds with Romo, but only rushed for 35 yards between 3 backs. Kolb went 21 of 37 296 yards for 3 tds and McCoy had 76 yards rushing. A well balanced game of NFL football. So far, the patch seemed to fix a few things behind the scenes, but idk. Maybe its just me.

My game keeps freezing when it shows the yard sticks. I deleted the data saved and the game data, and its still freezing. Any ideas?

Well to be fair Ian wasn't the one to say that. And many times things get said before a game is finished and doesn't make it in. I wish the storylines were actually followed though. On topic the uniforms are nice but would like more gameplay tweaks. Maybe have pro tak kick in more often. It seemed better last year when it was more common but thats just me.

In my last two attempts to play through an offseason in offline franchise, I've had two freezes. Not happy so far with this patch, or with whatever else may be causing this. I guess I need to learn to start saving more?

certain players still can't connect to each other, they get the error message 'unable to receive data request' or something in the team selection screen after the invite is sent. no more d/c's mid game, but still the same routing issues to certain players (chicago to texas is always an issue).

for instance, one guy in our leagues i can never play...simply because of ea's awful server routing issues. we nearly ended up in the super bowl in one of our leagues, and it would have had to be simmed because ea cannot fix a 12 year old problem we've paid them good money for.

totally ruins the online franchise experience...imagine spending 3 hours drafting a team, investing 18-19 hours in the season playing opponents to fight your way to the superbowl...only to have the final game simmed because of a simple error that won't be acknowledged. but they were all over 3D and MUT updates, like anyone gives a...

Was there a reception that was overturned on a coach's challenge? For some reason it takes away the pass attempt but not the reception in the stats.
