Football Manager 2011 News Post

The Football Manager 2011 demo is available in two flavors, strawberry and vanilla, both feature the first half of the 2010/2011 season. Games saved in the demo will be compatible with the full game, so aspiring managers can continue where they left off if they purchase Football Manager 2011.[/url]

Download it, play it and post your impressions here.

Here is a note from Miles Jacobson.

Quote:
"It has been reported, and now confirmed, that due to human error at our end, the Mac demo on Steam is an old build from a couple of weeks ago, and is thus a beta demo, not the gold demo.

We are working on getting the new version up there, and it will automatically update when it is live, but I'm told that if we're lucky, this will happen on Sunday evening, more likely Monday afternoon.

The Mac strawberry direct download, and torrent download, are both fine, and all of the PC versions available are fine.

I can only apologise for this mistake and hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment of the demo too much."

Yeah I use the TV camera mainly for replays - most of the other views are more helpful from a tactical perspective.

So, after ****ing around with the demo for a few days, I've decided that I'd rather play Fallout until the full FM comes out. No point in getting invested in a save when I know I'll start a new one with a sufficient database in a few weeks. I say this now, but chances are I'll fire up the demo in a few days haha.

After several hours of tinkering my team and making my mentors are all setup I start the season as a big underdog at Reading. I survive the first half (8 shots for Reading, 1 shot for me) and just pour it on in the 2nd half and end up winning 3-0. I'll probably still get relegated but its just very encouraging to start out with 3 points.
I landed at 'Palace in my first ever FM save (last year), after a few years in Chicago. I thought I was ready. I was not ready. Not even close. Good luck to you.

After dominating most of the demo my team is extremely weak due to half of my starting roster injured. I just lost 6-1 in my most recent game...last 5 games have been WDLDL...not pretty.

Agreed...I use sideline for game view and TV for replays

I started as Newcastle and I am getting destroyed...that being said I'm waiting until the full game comes out so I can create my custom Canadian league.

You need to manually edit each player, but its pretty easy to do that.

I really like the league creation. Apparently you can create international tourneys this year which is sick.

I love the new camera so far, but I too am waiting for the full game so I can resume my domination with the Gooners

Have my plans all laid out for transfers....

I'm still trying to figure out which club team I want to start with (along with managing Canada of course). In '09 I used AFC Wimbledon, last year I used St. Pauli. Not sure who I'm going with this time around.

I'm also going to create a Canadian league (looking at a 3-way split with Western Canada, Ontario and Eastern Canada leagues) that would link into the CCL and also a Canada/USA club tournament. Going to need to see how the editor shakes out for that one though.

Does anyone have links for the 2010-11 kits this year? I used to use FMG but that site shut down and I was using the ss kits. Thanks for the help

I also need better logos too

I'd use fmbase...just create an account so you can download the stuff. They have pretty much everything.

And with a game this good, why wouldn't he want to support the developers?

Starting my Union game now. It's just loading the initial 120,000+ player database (I know, I know, but it ran smoothly in FM10 with 135,000+), and then I'll be wrecking ****.
