"We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.
We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.
We’ll have more information for you in the near future."
Well it's surprising to me? Especially since local stores just got new reserve info on Collector's Editions and more.
But after playing the demo at Best Buy I'm not missing anything. Delay it all they want. I'm playing Dead Rising 2, Medal of Honor, F1 2010, WRC Rally, PES 2011, FIFA 11, and NBA 2k11. Got plenty to hold me off for right now.
Wouldn't it be better if it released now, then in a couple months you could find a deal for it for $10-15 bucks cheaper or be able to buy used and save that way?
Only money I'll be getting anytime soon is over my Thanksgiving break. I'll be helping my cousin DJ a party and a wedding in that break, which is a fairly easy $250 for doing a combined 6 hours of work/heavy lifting and 16 hours of partying/DJing. Add to that that when I preordered it (back before college tuition took almost everything) I paid off $10 for a deal that if delayed, I get an additional $5-10 off in addition to the $10 down payment, I'll only be spending about $40 on the game (depending on if I decide to trade in a few games or not).
Add to that me considering whether or not to get Black Ops and/or New Vegas, and a postponement on GT5 might actually help me financially.
There is still plenty of awesome games and sports games like, NHL11, NBA2K11, and MLB10 The Show that can be spinning.
Plus with releases of The Force Unleashed II, and other games, having a bit of space and more polish put into a game which we all know will undoubtedly rock is always welcome.
