"They're not haters, they say. They swear they aren't fanboys for the competition, either. But neither would they be EA Sports' favorite people right about now.

One is "Hard8Times," the guy whose 700,000-views video of a devastating glitch in the NBA Elite 11 demo became linked to the decision to indefinitely delay the game. The other is "BigBall12," who owns one of three known retail copies of the game, and whose video of NBA Jam for the PS3 and attempt to live-stream footage of it being played were squashed on a takedown notice from the publisher."

Good read thats pretty cool, the Bynum act was the deciding factor in buying the other game, but this was a good article, lucky guy

That was a good read.

As initially damaging as the 'Bynum does Jesus' video was I think EA's decision to delay/drop Elite was more to do with the outstanding details & feedback coming through on NBA 2K11. If there was no 2K11 this year Elite would have been released as schedules bugs & all.

Without consumers calling out big companies; they are going to continue to produce and sell us garbage at a high price. EA has lost my respect as a fan and as a stock holder. "We all are major stock holders for these companies.." You buy into their games and their budgets and profits; So why can't we (consumers) have any say on what should or shouldn't be.... The truth in the matter is; that their is a smaller group of people that are money hungry, that make those decisions for US; but not representing US, only for their greedy selves. As "Dazraz" stated, we would be playing a subpar product bugs and all on this very day, only because we didn't know better. Congratulations on speaking up (consumers) and showing the world (EA) that we DO know better. Taking your procduct back to the drawing table and actually completing it is the best news for everyone. It just goes to show you (literally); you may speak and never be heard; but if you show something, it always gets peoples Attention!

Previous comment is so true, if they had released elite and 2k was so much better even live fan boys would forever be turned. It's hilarious that they renamed because of bad association and now they should really be doing the same thing again. . . NBA prestige or NBA 180 here we come!

Yeah, now that I think about it the Elite name already bears negative connotations. EA might want to change the name again.

This whole business of charging $5-15 to unlock content already on the game disc we paid $60 for is ridiculous.

I would have to agree, that the name of the game must be changed. Elite already has negative feel to it. I would be in favor of just going back to Live.....for 2012

I thought I had read that these were unsubstantiated rumors? What was the content in question?

I read that all this stuff you can unlock in the game...but the shortcut is to just buy them. Seems like a fair trade off.

Did you ever post your impressions from the full game (elite)?
