It looks about the same as the past couple years, but with some nice little touches which was needed. The reversals look a lot better in general. I'm still wondering how the movesets are going to work since this guy did a lot of the same moves over and over again, unless it was just to make sure he got the pin on Jericho.
It was nice seeing how you could put the guy up on the top rope sitting, but not pull off a move right away. So you could smack the guy around before hand.
The hammer throw in the corner was pretty cool and how Jericho didn't just fall back to the mat, but slouched down into the corner.
The reversals were pretty crazy, but hopefully that will make the diehards happy. I personally like to have a bit more domination in beating down the CPU. *chuckles*
Also another nice touch is that you can go into a struggle submission off of blocking a punch or kick. Pretty nifty.

i like that they have minimal hud now...they still look stiff they really need to work on the transitional animations...some hitchiness in there
they need to take a page from NBA2k11 and try to squash all that hitch...
i wish they had a true broadcast tv style view...i hate that closeup of the ring...im trying to remember a wrestling game from Japan that had the view perfect and some of the most smoothest animations i've seen..

He's playing on legend, it's almost always been a reversal fest on the harder levels.
So much of that looked so good. Seemed to flow more like a real match except the ridiculous number of reversals. I wonder if there is a reversal slider?

Pretty sure the reversal slider has been in before, though I'm not sure how much effect the sliders in SvR have.

This looks horrible. I haven't even played a WWE/F game since Smackdown 2 on the PlayStation, but it looks like it plays like crap.
The ring seems way too small compared to the wrestlers.
The ramp and stage looks like crap. It's like they spent all their time on the wrestlers and not on the arena at all.
The transitions are awful. Nothing is fluid, just a bunch of snapping into moves. It's like there are animations missing. Bounce a guy off the ropes, they stop, then a move happens. Even between moves to reversals theres a snap effect.
Any move done from a standing wrestler to a downed wrestler looks like something on the PlayStation. Seriously, they don't even kick them or elbow drop, or leg drop, or whatever. The entire wrestler moves and you don't even make contact.
Even though the video hardly showed it, the arena is generic, appears too small, and provides nothing.
I understand this is just a video, probably extremely early build, but there's a ton of work to do.

Man that video impressed me. This will be the first game since 06 that I play. Great job THQ.
Nothing impressive so far. Looks the same as last year. We probably need to see more videos are all aspects of the game to see any real improvement. Also, are there any new sliders?? Or better sliders? Maybe an aggression slider so the opponent doesn't stand around like he did in this video (in the beginning he slams Sheamus down and waits until Sheamus gets up before doing anything.)
And what about the camera outside of the ring? Is it better? Adjustable? Further away instead of that close up box feel?
Show us something NEW.

I have been a fan of the SD vs Raw serias since Shut your mouth. But aside for sd vs raw 07 on the next Gen console. That has been the only wrestling game I've liked on the next Gen until this year. It's looking totally awsome. The wrestling looks great and all. There is only 28 days left before release. I'm ready to rumble.
they need to redo the Reversal system.
its mostly timing based and it stinks. anybody who has played Smackdown for years can reverse pretty much any move at anytime which is why matches are a reversal fest with no real flow. the timing window is still too big for all reversals.
Reversals should not only be more rating based, but on what type of move you are trying to reverse. for example, Rey Mysterio should be able to reverse quick grapples much better than he should be able to reverse Strong Grapples and Submissions moves. where as if i am playing as the Undertaker, he should be poor at reversing quick grapples but excellent getting out of Strong Grapples and Submission moves. also, the longer a match goes the less you should reverse moves altogether which will make reversals later on in the match that much more exciting. nothing feels better than pulling off a big reversal late in the match to turn the tide in ur favor for one last push to get the win.
On top of that, some wrestlers should be able to reverse certain moves at different points. Kofi Kingston should be able to not only reverse a Chokeslam when you first grab his neck, but also once you get him in the air, but you should have to time it perfectly. where as if you are trying to Chokeslam THE BIG SHOW, he should only be able to reverse it in the beginning but you would have to keep steadily tapping the reverse button to "Power" out the the chokeslam instead of just pressing it once.
i hope stephensonmc reads this.
