The 2K Sports Facebook page has released another NBA 2K11 My Player update.
Quote:
"Think twice before going all "rogue" in this year's My Career mode. If you can't contain your inner diva, team chemistry will break down and you'll be starved of the rock by your teammates. So unless your name is Mariah and you're wearing that super tight MJ jersey/dress, you better keep your attitude in check!"
I like playing D and rebounding the ball more then being a ball hog.I like making my player a Center, in 2k10 when I left center's open at the 3 point line they would take random 3's. Is this solved? why would Shaq receive a pass at the 3 point line in the first place. Untill those things are solved, this mode will be trash.
so i think if you choose to be a diva, good things should havin for you in the sense of popurlarity, deals, money,.. but in the end its worth nothing if you aint got dem rings.
My Player desperately needs some new hairstyles. particular ones where the players at least have a decent lineup
Why is it that the majority of the hairstyles were straight haired? Basically I had to choose from the hairstyle with the part and the high fade. I mean, how many players in the NBA have long straight hair?
This was mentioned in the last insight. This is really good b/c being a jackass can significantly effect your progression just like IRL.
Didn't hurt Jordan much. Which isn't intended as a stab at him, but that it should also be "off-set" by how important you are to the team. Let's be honest, Steve Blake isn't going to freeze out Kobe, no matter how much of an a-hole he might be to him

Maybe they're not thinking players in the NBA though. Maybe they're thinking gamers that want to create themselves.
I agree. It is very hard to make decent looking white players in this game though. They do need to improve hairstyles as very few are representative of what people actually wear IRL. I've always thought it would be cool to have hairstyle options specific to NBA players. Instead of just picking "straight short", "balding natural", etc you could pick "D. Will", "Ben Gordon", "Dirk", "A.I.", etc as a hair choice with the option to change hair color.
This is awesome stuff. I can't help but wonder what else they would implement if there were no restrictions from the NBA.
Maybe I'm over estimating the space all these modes need, but I can't believe they are fitting all this on one disk. It almost feels like My Player is a standalone RPG.
Me and a friend was just talking about this last night, if they keep adding things to My Player, which of course im sure they will and thats a good thing...how long before it is going to need its own disk? My Player is sounding so good right now but think I may have to hold off in playing it till I see if any patch is needed for something really important and also to see how alternate unis go...wonder how much later they will release them. Had to restart My Player a few times last year for patch up dates

When did Jordan EVER publicly make the game about him? Why do you think he was so popular? His PUBLIC persona was much more approachable and humble than the real thing. One the court he was an assassin and that's what made teammates love him (for making them better) or hate him. But never, in the public, did he come off as an arrogant jackhole.
