You know I have great respect for Blazer fans. You went through hell in the 1990 finals, and again in 92. You guys were a great team, just not quite as good as the Pistons and Bulls.

I noticed that it said "Bulls Arena" on the score board. And the court colors/lighting/feel of the game is nothing like the old Chicago Stadium. That looks identical to the United Center and has a generic name. That recent preview article said the same thing about the Boston Garden not being included in the Challenge. So maybe the stadiums are simply not complete yet?

I love how it appears to have a slightly desaturated/sepia tone look to it to further give it that old school feel. That's something I always did when making my videos.

One thing that worries me is the different short length between the Bulls and Blazers, which means it's probably hardwired into the classic teams and not something selectable. So when I want to do a video with a classic team not in the game (Suns, Magic, ect.) they'll have the current past-the-knees shorts no matter what.

And the Chicago Stadium floor was pretty beat up, particularly the red lane. It didn't look like that ultra-glossy reflective & glassy-look like today's courts. That court looks just like the United Center.

You saw it here when Jordan dunked on two guys that were in between him and the basket and they were just knocked back without any impact on the dunker. Kersey did the same thing a few plays before that. If Im trying to contest a guy running at me on an open lane and he initiates a dunk, I expect to be able to at least jump and have physics decide the outcome. But to have my player rendered uncontrollable should not be the result.

So are unstoppable dunks without any contesting collisions still in 2K?

Will Jordan have his 3 dribble set free throw routine? Do you have him shooting free throws blind anywhere like he did versus the Nuggets?

Didn't Mike say that this was a pretty old build?

Edit: I just saw who posted this. Nevermind.

I agree on the Paxson and Kersey faces.

But the calf sleeve bug where it makes the sock disappear, I don't remember it being patchable. Also the high socks going over the kneecap.
It can be patched into that particular players model. No need anyway, it's in there.

I'll second what somebody already mentioned as well, there were no moving ad boards back then. I think it should just say The 1992 Finals and be stationary like it was during that series. Do we really need to pimp David Stern's lame NBA Cares campaign even in this era????

Good call there. It really does look like the United Center floor with different art.

I think that's just a generic listing of the real life rosters. It did not seem to be a confirmation of exactly which players' rights they were able to secure.

Maybe something like this? (from the "Attention to Details in Jordan Challenge" Thread).

Chicago Stadium:

Benny the Bull and referees:

# 92 Goffs @ 08/27/10 01:44 PM
^^ its a good thing we already have mods all good and ready when the game comes out...i dont think we will have separate benny the bull models so if we modded that fat version then he will show up in the 2010 season...

# 93 aloncho11 @ 08/27/10 01:51 PM
Nope. The team mascots always come on the team home uniform files, and given that the classic teams are going to have their own separate set of unis, Benny the Bull can be tweaked

# 94 RIZDRAVER @ 08/27/10 01:52 PM
Yeah, the court colors and short lengths in that PC mod are far more accurate.

Anyway, I posted those screens not to say that we can mod the game, but with the purpose of showing what 2K can achieve in comparison to that beta Chicago Stadium floor.

That had to have been a pretty old build due to the "Bulls Arena" name. I have to believe they have the Chicago Stadium built in-game by now?

# 98 aloncho11 @ 08/27/10 02:10 PM
It is an old build from what we all know, but what no one knows for sure is if the graphics have been improved and polished.

I'd rather have a fixed court with correct colors, appropriate dornas (adboards) and 1992 NBA Finals logos (correctly positioned) than "Chicago Stadium" as the Arena Name.

Well that's what I was inferring. I was pointing out the generic name as it might be a ray of hope that what we saw is just a place holder until the Chicago Stadium is dropped in.

"Might" is the keyword. Let's hope for the best for this awesome mode
