The CPU's offensive AI is out of this friggen world and it's only a demo. CH2K8 is the only other basketball game where the AI is so good that it actually makes me chuckle because they make so many heady, great basketball decisions. This vid looks very similar in that regard. I mean the CPU is wasting no time, not BS'ing, etc. Hitting the open man, attacking driving lanes, etc. The CPU's offense seriously looks real - it's damn near perfect.

Only bad thing was the block at the one minute mark, not even sure what happens there.

nice find off to watch!

Yeah, that block was a bit odd. Wade's forward momentum suddenly disappeared

Also, I hope that sequence at the end with Miller and Haywood wasn't canned. Hopefully, Haywood had to have actually jumped (instead of being sucked into jumping), making Miller alter his shot in that manner.

That block and the animation with Dirk & Anthony (?) at :31 are prime examples of animations I despise in basketball games.

On a lighter note, next time I get in a run, i'm going to try that move Wade did (drive left, turnaround left hander) just to see if it gets off even once. You'd think that would get blocked every time.

True that man the AI is looking great in these vids!!

These users are killing me though. No playcalling and a lot of silly passes, you would think they would catch onto the fact that passing angles are important lol!

And even when he made a good play the one where he hit Marion in the corner for the open shot he still decides to pass it. And cross court I might add.

I think I'm done with these gamescom vids, I just want to see someone that understands a little bit about the game of basketball lol

they didnt have that available for the demo...thats the first thing i asked DaWolf if he ran some plays...

did you guys notice that dirk nowitzki is the ONLY one on the mavericks wearing pure black shoes that look to be the generic shoe? I find that quite peculiar..

Damn that looks sweet. Everything is real smooth. One thing that I noticed in all the vids is when someone grabs an offensive rebound or has a dunk it doesn't look strong. It doesn't have that snap or something, I don't have the right word for it but, it doesn't flow like everything else does.

Anyone know what I'm trying to say here?

Ok that makes sense 2K has never included full plays in demo's anyway don't know why I thought otherwise.

I'm not one of "those" people that complained about high layups, but seeing a high layup on that particular one Miller did make the play seem more like a luck play to me.

And, I don't know, seems like once the ball bounces off the rim things slowed down. Not framerate wise, so to speak, just...I don't know.

Eh.

Still, this is as smooth as the Kool cigarette brand.

Edit: BTW, seeing luck plays in a video game ain't exactly a bad thing now that I think about it. Problem is how often will it happen?

Let's ask them for more 60fps vids, nicely.

And yes I know that Mike have said that they addressed this but I really hope 2K have already fixed those high banking shots. Every single play, we get to see those annoying shots.

The high lay-ups was fixed Sat not an issue anymore well I hope.

Pretty sure the developers said that the high layups are already fixed in the initial Gamescom video thread.

Do you mean a lack of force/effort behind the actual rebound or dunk? Stale could be a good word to use or 'oomf' like I refer to it as. Offensive rebounding with a man boxed out should have that physicality of having to work for that board ala Dennis Rodman or Charles Barkley did.

I just jizzed at that framerate

i dont find it to be that bad, just a person showing how excited they are, its just a lil exaggeration

That was beautiful. There was nothing in that video that didn't look and feel like the NBA. It was basically the NBA with video gamish gestures. Did you see that lead pass get dealt with? The defender would have slumped on that pass in previous games.
