NBA Elite 11 to Include NBA Jam, Not Available on Marketplace or PSN (360, PS3)

INCLUDE FREE* DOWNLOADABLE VERSION OF NBA JAM

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – August 3, 2010 – Electronic Arts Inc. (Nasdaq: ERTS) announced today that all new copies of NBA ELITE 11 will include a one-time download code that will enable users to access three modes of NBA JAM – Play Now, Classic Campaign and Online. Already set to revolutionize the way basketball simulation games are played with new Hands-On Control, the inclusion of the NBA JAM modes will make NBA ELITE 11 the ultimate basketball videogame experience available, on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, when it is released on October 5, 2010.

Winner of eight ‘Best Sports Game of E3’ awards, including the coveted Game Critics Award, NBA JAM has been optimized for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to truly deliver a next-gen experience of the classic franchise. With Play Now, Classic Campaign, and Online modes included, the downloadable version of NBA JAM, that is available with purchases of NBA ELITE 11, will include a robust single player and multiplayer experience. I don't get how a person could say ''poor move'' ea. That's a great news and a smart move by ea, you get to have 2 different kind of game one for simulation one for arcade and fun, so cheers.

I'm looking forward to elite 11 so hopefully i get to play jam,too. Great.

The big news is the true physics but packaging NBA Jam with it is also HUGE. All of you have played Jam back in the day and with updated graphics and players it is going to be a ton of fun. Plus, 2 on 2 online is gonna be great. Big ups to EA. Now if 2K would do something special besides whore out Michael Jordan we would have great options this year.

Man just read my whole comment if you don't get it. For the people who don't want Elite but would love Jam, it's a misery. Try argue in a different way next time around.

Was thinking the same. Hope we are both wrong and Elite really delivers as it's known Nba Jam is a quality product but not for everyone.

Mj, the new player movement, and the IGN previews are the reason EA made this move. Though I like this decision it kind of spells bad news for Elite 11 alone.

lol you don't get it.
Jam on the Wii will be around 50€ (not dollars!) and there's a mode which contains at least 20h of gameplay experience. This mode won't be in the ps3/x360 product. Take it as you will, can't argue against these facts. And you can't argue against the wish of many people to buy Jam as a stand-alone product.

Meh.. I really have no incentive to want to play NBA Jam at this point, it was fun 18year ago.

EA already knows at this point that Elite 11 can't stand on its own when facing 2k11 . Theyre going to lose in h2h sales vs 2k without some incentive... so they decided to scrap XBLA and PSN downloads, by making you buy Elite.

At some point though I do wonder, if Elite sales are bad to begin with, will EA reverse their stance and still make a XBLA and PSN if Elite is getting crushed in sales?
