Madden NFL 11 News Post

I'll take questions tonight, but after that, I send it off to the reviewer. He can then decide to do the same, or just wait for the review.

With that out of the way, what questions do you have? I haven't gone too deep into franchise, but we all already know, not much has changed there.

*Closed it up at midnight, but there are quite a few questions answered.

Steve...

Do players progress during preseason? Or is preseason once again meaningless?

Thanks for taking and answering questions.

Thanks Steve.
Presentation Styles are as follows.

Normal, AFL, Super Bowl and Holidays

As for stats, they seem fairly good for the most part, will get a sample up after I catch up a bit.

Thx for your time
I can't enable my online pass, I keep getting an error. I'm sure the reviewer will get it working, by the time he gets it.

Can't tell, since I can't test it out.

Haven't even tried online, sorry. Wanted to try OTP, but I can wait. Reviewer will have quite a bit of time w/ it tho.

Simming a season, he seems to be quite beastly. Being a Cowboys fan, trying to use him on my own to get pressure, however... I can get to the QB, but rarely do I get the sack. QB always seems to get rid of it at the last second. I have a few sacks w/ him, but I'd like to see more, obviously.

A question off of this observation. In the demo I found that if I dove(square on PS3) at the QB when trying to sack him, I was more successful than using the hit stick.

Have you tried that method?

Can't do video w/ my PS3, only the 360. It doesn't pull out as far as the normal camera setting.

In my limited time, I thought I had good pressure w/ Ratliff on occasion. I'd say the better DLineman get better pressure than last year. Ends are still where most will bring pressure.

I'd say it is about the same as the demo really. I mean, I could get pressure on the QB in the demo, with that being said, I wasn't able to get many sacks. Which is the case in the retail, so far. Pressure is one thing, sacks are another story.

Yes, I was afraid of this in the demo. But in the retail, I'm getting more time, if I'm balancing the run and the pass. If I'm not balanced or my running game isn't doing much, I'm not doing much in the PA game either. I'm leaning toward the "not enough" time on PA tho... the more I play. Still too early to judge.

Thanks for the answers.

Thought I'd ask one more question if you don't mind; How much of an improvement is the retail version of the game over the demo? Any noticeable differences?

EDIT: Oops, nevermind. Didn't realize Jesus asked a similar question to mine.

Was cool to hear "Hail to the Redskins" even tho, I hate them. Crowd noise is improved over 10 some... I think the team songs and little audio items pop up at the right times, on most occasions, but there are some that are off, or don't always play, leaving you to scratch your head.

Notice Gus Johnson and the commentating sometimes completely disappears on plays, which sucks. Nothing like a long bomb TD, w/o a peep from Gus.

I mean Gus is good for the game, but the timing of the audio he brings, just doesn't fit right. I think the programming of when audio hits, needs to be improved on. Just because you have a big name, if it doesn't go w/ the flow of the game, it just doesn't feel right, ya know?

But again, it is an improvement over the boring Hammond, but I expected more.

Didn't really have time to dig into it, but off of a quick peak, it really seemed to be the same as last year... But again, that was based off of a quick peek. If I have time, I'll check into it more.

Well, I didn't like the demo on the PS3, because it was too sluggish and choppy. Didn't have that problem w/ the 360 demo. That alone makes the gameplay better, because there is nothing worse than having choppy frames when playing a football game.

Well I hope this is something Ian and Phil can look into to patch it. Avg sacks per team per NFL game is about 3 sacks. Even the worst team in the NFL on a yearly bases avg atleast around 25 to 28 sacks a year. I think this needs to be look at and address to be honest. I had blitzes coming from manning blind side in the demo and he would throw the ball right as I got to him. That kind of worries me some. I want to see more sacks in a game. I don't want to see any team just 6 sacks per game. I just want to see be able sack the AI QB a little more then usual. They need to find a balance in there some where.

Question

1. Is Carolina Panthers SB 38 Jersey in the game as a option for them to play in?

I felt as tho the AI was a bit crazy hard on All Madden, as I didn't have much time to pass at all. Not having that issue w/ retail. In fact, it was pretty bad in the demo, I couldn't even stomach playing on All Madden w/ it.

AI seemed to score more in the demo, but that is probably due to the fact that I am more used to the controls now.

They have home/away and Alternate Blue Tops.
