Madden NFL 11 News Post

This actually got me pretty excited about Madden NFL 11. I noticed the jerseys are a little dirty in the second scene, which has been questioned here, quite a few times.

I thought it was a cool 30-second trailer. Thanks for posting!

Awesome vid, everything looks good. It's nice to see that uniforms do in fact get dirty.

The player models are such a step down from NCAA. Hopefully next year they can get something like NCAA, but not exactly because I don't want both games looking the same.

This couldn't be any more of a bass akwards statment, the ncaa players are still somewhat bulky, madden is much closer to reality.

Madden has a cartoonish-type look to it and on the field the heights don't look proper like they do in 2K5 and NCAA 11. Also NCAA 11 has a much more realistic look to it with the way they did the skin.

This. The player models are great in Madden. I don't really think the models in NCAA are bad but, I like them better in Madden.

Nice trailer. I wish it was a little longer. But nice anyway. Thanks Steveo.

Agreed. After playing NCAA 11 like crazy since it came out, the player models still wow me every game. Not so much in these Madden videos lately.

Good trailer except for Cutler going down and Allen doing his stupid dance

I've never even had a NCAA game, but man, real recognize Madden is not even touching NCAA in the graphics department. In regards to players being bulky, the players in Madden don't have enough bulk. I can think back to that shot of LT and how skinny he looks. In Madden LB's look like WR's and DE's look like LB's. They need to get it together.

Both NCAA and Madden11 look amazing. Who are we kidding?! Pretty games to say the least!

Edit: But as far as the trailer goes....eww, didn't like it, slight graphical improvements but there was nothing that told me that wasn't last years game, thats just me...

Edit #2: Also quoted him because i agree...And i disagree with you Trey, the lighting makes all the difference, comparing screenshots of both last years games and this years, i'd hafta disagree

Player models in Madden looking bulky, eh? Is that Madden hate talking or are those truly objective POVs? Hmm, let's break that down a bit.

First off, players generally get bigger once they get in the NFL. I think the Madden team understands that and accurately tries to portray that. If you are comparing the NFL to NCAA, you gotta take that into account.

Secondly, don't let the new lighting model contribute to that thought process of better looking players in NCAA. That's a bit of a mind game, by nature, in itself. Either you succumb to that belief or you see through it objectively. The new lighting does look great in NCAA 11 (if not washed out looking) and I can see how people will swoon over it .

That's all about that.

Now, about the dirty jersey thing, wasn't that in Madden 09 and Madden 10? Maybe I'm thinking about how muddy jerseys got in Madden 09 to the point where you didn't know which team was which, which was a bad thing. Madden 10, if I remember correctly, scaled back on that. I gotta pop that back in to see but it's hard to go back to that now that I am in love with NCAA 11. Also, I could be confusing dirty jersey thing with muddy jerseys. I'll check on that but I definitely see the dirty jerz toward the beginning of the vid. Looks good.

I miss the muddy jerseys from 09. That was pretty awesome.

The lighting system does make a hell of difference in NCAA 11, way more realistic. But Trey makes some great points about the player models from both games. One thing that urks me about NCAA is when a player walks through the fieldgoal net or the goal post after extra points...Ugh
