So wait, they don't owe us anything? We just give them 65 dollars a year, (plus more if you include the bogus downloadable content) for nothing?

if you don't like it, don't play it. no one is forcing you to buy the game. if it doesn't meet your exact specifications, leave it on the shelf.
I don't play video games simply because they are 'fun'. I play them to put myself in a realistic situation that I normally would not be able to be in. I play Red Dead Redemption because I feel like I am actually THERE and in that world. It's believable. I play "Hardcore" mode on Call of Duty games because I want it to be the most realistic experience possible as if I was in that situation in real life.

I play Madden because I want to know what it's like to be a professional football player as well as a coach. I want to feel a small (very) part of what Peyton Manning feels when he lobs that perfect pass over the defender for a touchdown. Or how good the Ravens D feels when they swarm the ballcarrier and don't allow him to gain an inch... We need Madden to be as realistic as possible for this reason, because if it gives off the impression of being fake, I will lose interest and it will not seem real to me. I don't play video games just to "have fun". That's what the Wii is for.

if you don't think tackling is an important part of football and that Madden is only football game this gen that has this problem and wasn't even an issue in some football games in previous gen, then hey, ignorance is bliss. morre power to ya.
I think his point is the one we've heard numerous times, the majority of the people that complain over and over still buy the game, and then they play it and complain some more.
If it's really that big of a deal, don't buy the game. If you don't have fun with the game because you can't look past these things don't buy the game.
If you know about these problems, they bother you, and you are going to support EA by purchasing it, then what are you complaining about? They gave you a product that you deemed worthy of your cash. That's really the only opinion of a consumer that matters, is it good enough to get their money?

Because of the Exclusive Rights, MADDEN is the ONLY NFL licensed game out there. People have a right to be unhappy with EA/Tib.
I agree they can be unhappy, I'm unhappy, I haven't bought madden this gen either. I play head coach for the franchise aspect, but haven't played madden because their franchise mode is weak. The point is there are numerous people who know they aren't going to like certain things, things they call 'deal breakers' things they have complained about for years, but then they buy the game anyways, give EA money and continue to complain. You've complained about it, but you've also said it can be overlooked because you gave them your money.

man madden is going to be garbage again, hockeyball is in effect big time, players skating all over the place. EA does it again.

If it wasn't we'd be banned. Don't tell us because some pay for the game they should just shut up and take it. Then if someone points out flaws about the game but hasn't played it then people will pull ye ole "oh you haven't even played the game, so don't judge it unless you play it" mess so just stop with all that.
there's such a thing as constructive criticism. but there's a line. so many people here expect perfection and to expect that from any video game is delusion. mlb the show - best baseball sim ever right? there are plenty of issues in this game if you play it and dissect it. there are in every game ever made. there's no such thing as the perfect game. it doesn't exist. madden won't ever be a perfect simulation game. there are things about the game i hate. sure. there are things i'd like added, changed, tweaked, etc. but on 2 minute preview video, all you guys can talk about is flaws. i think the game looks great. you all act as if you're entitled to something. you're not. ea can feed you whatever they want and that's the bottom line. if you all would act like adults and try to help ea and the designers who come here for insight (or used to), they'll listen. they've proven that they listen to us in the past. but to ***** and moan about every single little issue in every single thread and every single video posted is ridiculous. there are issues. they know that. to argue about it is meaningless.

and to Jimixiii, if you don't play the game and continue to point out flaws, your opinion really means very little. that's like never trying mountain dew and saying it's gross. 'it's green, so it's gross' how do you know? have you tasted it? it's the nectar of the God's! i know you're probably a madden pro but you're too good for the current gen so you still rock your ps2 version of madden. if that's your style, fine. but to judge a game you don't even play is ludicrous.

all i'm saying is you all act like ea isn't working hard. that is their job. all they do is work 9-5 on code. they work for months to improve the game. voicing concern is fine, but to simply focus on the negative and not look at all the positive strides the game has taken is maddening. i'm pumped for the game. i'm not ignoring flaws, but i'm not focusing on them.

this makes me sad...even on Pro...6 defenders....someone should have taken him down. Not all of them were controlled by the user. I hope this was just a fluke.

# 48 nhiverson @ 06/18/10 09:45 PM
I read that the Broncos only want to take 2 QB's into the season so unless Tebow gets 2nd string will he be on the opening roster maybe as a FB? I bet if he didnt make the roster EA still keeps him on there 53 man roster.

I'm not in here complaining for my health, I hate to complain. but it is what it is. We as consumers are being mislead at this point, that in itself is a whole 'nother argument. I'd rather just stick to the game at hand. And considering how much I love the NFL buying another game isn't really an option for me...You should really try and get off your high horse.

I tried to explain i'm not trying to bash madden at all, just expressing my frustration, and this is the first year i've ever done so. So please refrain from the "go away, blah blah, etc." my opinion is just as entitled as yours.
As for you, I would need that vid because I don't recall Ian ever saying that and never have I heard a complaint about Ian saying that and it never coming to fruition. Not saying it's not out there but I remember much of what was said not only going into this Madden but into Madden 10, as well. I KNOW some things weren't produced as once was foretold but I really don't remember Ian saying canned animations were a thing of the past.

As for your high horse remark, there is nothing "high horse" about what I said, at all. I spoke specifically about complaints about things that were never said would be fixed for THIS Madden. I could see if EA SPECIFICALLY spoke on improving/fixing/removing those particular things for THIS Madden but they didn't so complaining about them, the way people have been overly doing, as if EA DID say they would be taken care of is not valid to me. I can see if people see the blocking is still completely broken and complain about that because EA said on MULTIPLE occasions that it's been completely re-wrote and fixed. That would be very valid to complain about.

Maybe I come at this with the understanding that the game's base engine/code is OLD and limited so I know they can't fix everything using this engine and I don't get all bent out of shape when I see some of the same things happening. I realized that after Madden 09, and that's why I mentioned what I did about the engine in my remarks.
Not only do I come with the understanding of the tech, I also come with the understanding that EA has been getting pounded with TONS of complaints ABOUT THE SAME THINGS OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND...I'm sure they are well documented on EA's side

you truly are a moron. i understand reading more than 100 words is a bit beyond your ability, so i'll try to keep this short. had you read my post, you would've noted that i care very little about your opinion. and i never said that there is anything wrong with expressing one's opinion. this is a forum for discussion. you expressed yours. i expressed mine.

obviously there are issues in the game. but there are also good things about the game. a lot of people (such as yourself) come on this forum to only gripe and complain about the game, where people such as myself, come here for positive updates and discussion about the GAME. not how different the game is from real life.

i'm not going to argue with you because reading clearly isn't your strong suit. let me sum it up at the end here so you get my point because you inevitably skipped the majority of my post: you keep whining. you keep focusing on the negative things in the game. those of us who play the game for its entertainment value will be off enjoying ourselves come august. while you sit on your mom's computer griping about how awful the game is an how fantastic 2k5 is.

and don't call me buddy.

Can you post a link with updates or lack thereof of franchise updates? I haven't heard any news about it.

# 55 Meast21Forever @ 06/19/10 12:25 AM
i wasn't really talking to you. i was talking to.. some dude with a bunch of iii's in his name that i can't remember.

but i'm glad you're not against me enjoying the game. i don't play madden anymore, cause i'm a skins fan and the team is so different now. it always gets to that point in the offseason. just waiting on ncaa. i don't play the game for perfect cpu interaction or graphics or presentation. i play it because it's the nfl. that's why ea got the exclusive license. suckers like me i guess

i just wanted a link because i thought maybe there was franchise info from this years madden that i hadn't heard that maybe you were basing your argument on.

# 56 Maelstrom-XIII @ 06/19/10 12:27 AM
Phil Frazier posted a blog on the Madden site stating that there would be no significant changes to Franchise this year...they're looking into an overhaul for Madden 12. I don't have a link at the moment, but it's on the Madden site. Just minor tweaking.

I'm not sure if that's what you were looking for...if you're looking for a list of franchise updates throughout the years, that's not that.

I think you can understand my frustration. If there would have been another NFL Licensed game out there, I would be on there site trying to get info. But Madden is the only choice I would have.
Definitely man. I'm pretty frustrated as well. Especially reading about this:
http://www.pastapadre.com/2010/06/11...ranchise-modes

I was really excited about the Head Coach guy joining the team. Real bummer. The most frustrating thing is the features they added are more mass appeal, back of the box type things. Gameflow is something I won't use. Simple as that. I call my own plays. I don't care if my games statistically lasts longer than other peoples. What are the other features? Co-op with three people instead of 1? Really? That's a years worth of work. I like the whole locomotion/body lean thing that's in NCAA and Madden this year, but that's not enough. Hardly an update.

EDIT: That said, I'll still buy the game. Cause I enjoy it. I've enjoyed it since 07. It's been lacking, sure, but I still enjoy the game. I buy it cause I love it. It's that simple

Does not look like a good simulation of the NFL. Look like an arcade game. I am usually hyped for Madden but I don't know this year

I mean cmon EA, if you are going to resort to putting out a game like this after yet another year of development then I truly question the talent of the EA Tiburon development team, and I question the decision making of the EA Tiburon management team.

I'm sorry but as customers we don't have to settle for garbage product. These videos look horrible.

There's my constructive criticism.
are you the resident whiner for each Madden thread?

in any event..
