Wow, I am surprised at all the negativity about these videos. I was extremely impressed with what I saw. Now, keep in mind, I haven't liked Madden in years. I started to dig last years' game, and I played it plenty. A few years back, remember when Ian came out very late in the game and informed us that there were no CPU sliders, and he admitted knowing about it for months but didn't know how to break it to us. I think Bill Abner had to find out for himself before Ian said anything about it.....well I was so p'd off that I threw a tantrum on these boards and got sent to my room for awhile... so remember, I am very skeptical about Madden.

But, I gotta say, these vids look great! The cut scenes are fantastic- on point, relevant, and a lot of new ones. Gus Johnson, while still a work in progress, really gives me goosebumps with his enthusiasm. If they can get him to talk more pre-snap and use more last names and such, the commentary is gonna be great...a huge step up from Hammonds. The sideline catches look good- that one where the Colts almost caught it in bounds was sick! The replays are a nice touch as well....it really looked like a TV broadcast the way the replays are being shown. Excellent job EA. The gameplay, while not perfect, looks much better...you can tell these guys are playing on rookie, but you can still tell that they fixed a lot of things that bothered us in the past. Also, the faces look really really good.

You guys gotta give some credit where credit is due. Don't be a *****, this game is looking very nice. I am going into this season with a positive outlook and I will give EA another chance....they are making some nice strides here and I acknowledge that.

Now- GO LAKERS tonight!

I loved Madden 10 it was the first madden since 05 for pc that i could play some Franchise years in, but it still had a lot of flaws.
I don't see those flaws resolved with this version + the 360 catch is back the most unrealistic catch in videogame history ^^

I fear we will just have the the player awareness for the sidelines and 20 new cut scenes.
Man even those intros i've seen so far were mostly the "saints intro"

You have to move the arrow down all the way and drive it.....you'll get more distance.

Definitely need more dialogue. Here's an example from a random video I found. No dead space.

I just thought of a possible reason why there is no commentary before the snap. With the gameflow feature the offensive coordinator is supposed to be speaking to you before the snap telling you what play to run. Obviously they do not want two different sets of dialogue going at the same time so unfortunately for everybody they chose to have Gus just start his commentary after the ball is snapped. Therefore, if we are not using gameflow there is no commentary at all before the snap causing the "dead space."

This is extremely frustrating because to be honest with you Gus sounds pretty damn good during the play as a commentator.

I don't know if you've had a chance, but there's a great thread going on with curvise who was actually at E3 and got some hands on time with the game. On page 2 he goes through how big matchups are and highly rated interior guys like Jamal Williams were able to collapse the pocket.

FINALLY... 10million a year will mean something!!!!

Don't know if this has been asked or answered yet..but for new coaches, how will gameflow work?

The game looks like it plays a lot better than M10 honestly in terms of locomotion, blocking AI, etc. However, I really am getting sick of the same tackle animations over and over. Especially the ones where the the guy gets hit from the front and they fall forward. It just looks like that couldn't happen.

Also, did anyone notice on video 5 @ 23 seconds after the TD, the ref scoots sideways very glitchy then it happens again, WTF!!??!? That is just really really bad.

Also, where is the spin catch, I must have missed it.

Oh ok. How was Madden 11? Did it feel good or just like last year? Cause honestly, you should be able to give a good opinion right?

I mean can we at least get them to look like they belong on a Last Gen console let alone Current Gen. They still look like cardboard cutouts. I'm tired of trying to ignore looking at the sidelines when I play because it totally kills the immersion of the game seeing how crappy they look. Come on EA the cutsceens look cool but its almost 2011. Why can't we get the sidelines to look like they do in the cutsceens during gameplay? Don't give me that stuff about you have to sacrifice things to get the game to run at 60fps. Other sports games don't have that problem. Come on EA step your game up!
Yea, the sidelines are really apart of what's going on on the field. Hope u got the sarcasm in that. Obviously, it's not as easy as you think for them to fix that because if it was so simple, don't u think it would have been done? C'mon, son.

Old games have dynamic sidelines, I don't think it's difficult, it's not in their priority list....

Does EA work on animations anymore? especially tackling animations? apparently not. not enough disc space after all.

I think so too. I don't think they'll come out and say that certain presentational elements of Madden were sacrificed for GF, but it's evident. Same thing with the ways the players approach the line: I was hoping we would get some camera shots of the RB, WR, or a defender from time to time instead of the QB 100% of the time. Nope! It would appear the pre-snap sequence is set up to zoom out to account for the coach cam/play art that immediately shows up when GF is activated.

Few things I noticed that I loved:

-when they show replays, they show it from 3 different angles, instead of just a quick 3 second clip that showed up 3 times a game last year. This is A HUGE upgrade for me!

-showing the press box when they want to challenge the call was priceless, really added to the realism.

-did anyone notice when the quarter ended they showed a few highlight clips from the quarter, followed by trainers getting the players water? That was beautiful!

-showing stats while replays are playing is a much welcomed addition, really adds to realism

-I love how after the td and then the pat, when it transitions to kick off/return, they show the replay again....BEAUTIFUL EA!

-Some of you people will NEVER be pleased, you see the glass half empty...I see it half full. Everything EA has done this year in NCAA AND Madden has been very welcomed and I can definitely tell the difference. You guys are in denial if you think it's Madden 10 with Gus Johnson. I can't freaking wait to spend hours playing my college and madden fix this year!
