UFC Undisputed 2010 News Post

Tank has just posted another update on the much anticipated patch for UFC Undisputed 2010.

Quote:
"The patch itself is near complete and we are preparing to submit to first parties (MSFT and SONY) currently. As I have mentioned in previous updates, we are at the mercy of their processes and QA, until we submit to first-party, its near impossible to give an accurate release timeline. Thus the patch will not be coming out next week, as we are currently in deliberation with QA & 1st party on a few issues revolving around Super CAF’s, among a few other items. These are very delicate critical changes, and there are a lot of parties involved to help make happen. However, we are gunning for late this month to release, again that takes in to account all 1st party mandatory processes as expected. I will keep you posted on the timeline, but at the very least wanted to give you some context and a look forward.

A few specifics on the patch itself:
  • We have greatly improved the success rate of joining both Ranked and Player matches on PS3 and Xbox 360. We also fixed an issue which caused gameplay to slow down on servers which had good connection quality (indicated by the Blue meter in Search Results).
  • We are all-but-certain to reset the Ranked Leaderboards when the patch deploys in order to level the current online playing field, given it has been heavily skewed by Super CAF’s, disconnects, and other nefarious gameplay issues being fixed. PLEASE KNOW this - all of your accumulated ranked online play stats are still stored offline in your personal profile, i.e. so you can always have an overall historical track. Resetting the leaderboards will allow us to start fresh competitive tournaments, new & old stars to rise once again, and level the playing field
  • Any takedowns which did not require a struggle have been removed. Additionally, the Omoplata submission has been adjusted so that players do not escape to a standing position.
  • We have lowered the AI proficiency at executing and escaping submissions. In other words, the AI should start to feel a lot more fair, while remaining challenging.
  • Players who disconnect during Ranked matches are penalized with a Loss, DNF, and Ranked point loss as well. Not to mention, you stand no chance at gaining any credibility in the competitive landscape. Players who try to use disconnecting in the future for any purpose meant to “gain”, will never be recognized or achieve success on our leaderboard or tourneys. Take your loss like a man!

Take the game for what its worth, I would pay 60$ for the game any day. With the updates he posted all I really care about is the takedowns, the only problem with this game I had was with the unstoppable takedowns from Lesnar, Machida, GSP, ect. All the other things I feel people are just complaining about...like i said nothing is perfect on a VIDEO GAME, nor will it ever be exactly like it is in real life in the octagon. Just be happy Video Games have come this far, I mean just 8 years ago we were playing UFC Tapout lol...Just being were we are today and the product we have now compared to that thing, I have to applaud the developers who made this game because it does bring hours and hours of fun. It sucks when you lose but you just have to take it like a man and try to get better and learn from the mistakes you make. I just hate seeing or reading people who say "oh this game sucks! or looks like its going to be on Ebay", I mean come on dont complain about it, just go sell the damn thing if you dont like it.....I give this game a solid 9/10 anyday!
I have right to complain when these weren't issues in last years game

I can't give this thing over a 5 because online still isn't working correctly. Preorder DLC fighters arent in career mode nor able to be used online.

Career mode is so jumbled bugged and unfinished its hard to call it a mode.

So your only problem with the game is unstoppable takedowns? How about horrible AI that is overly aggressive and can be reversed to full mount easily. How about online that either will not connect or if it does in 10 mins is so laggy that you can't even tell what is happening. What about a career mode where only your fighter ages, and where fighters who hold the belt don't fight for sometimes years. Why don't you make a BJJ guy and give him no standup, I bet you money that over a 15 fight span you will possible sub the CPU 1 time after the 20th "rocked state" and the other 14 fights you will either win or lose to first round KO's. How about auto-block transitions that encourage LnP, because it takes out all the risk of going for a reversal.

So in essence I own a game that can not be played online for lag and server problems, is to easy to play offline due to terrible AI and easy reversals, and has a career mode that is tedious and asinine. Yep its a video game...but a video game I don't won't to play.

I understand its your opinion. However a game this bugged and rushed should never have been released. Saying your are willing to pay 60 dollars for a game that obviously was never play tested is not encouraging about what we can expect in the future. Companies will just release a bugged product and then try to patch it to make it playable (In UFC 2010, its so jacked up I don't see much hope).

So true

And the bolded is a eye sore....

I had hopes of making a guy who's a wrestler(GSP without standup, just a sub specialist)

Can not be done...(quick stand ups doesnt help neither)

When my opponent has me in rubber guard, I can simply click the left stick to stand up. How is that possible?

I had 5 or 6 fights yesterday go into the championship rounds (one 5 round decision win for me too) and 3 or 4 that went to decision on 3 rounds. I dunno, I'm way less frustrated with the KO frequency. It's still too many vs. TKOs and decisions, but not that bad. I don't know what the difference is from early on, maybe I'm just getting better at the game and not getting caught so bad with those LB shots that end the fights so early.

Played w/2 friends last night. Between the 3 of us, we had about 30 fights. 2 submissions and about 4-5 tkos. Everything else was by KO.

the more and more I play the less the KO's bother me and the more the ground games pissed me off! It's damn near impossible b.c you get kicked off after 3 attempts by your opponent or you're forced to just sit their and flick the right stick. win cheap or get beat cheap

The only way I've gone to a decision was when I've purposely tried to - which meant basically no head attacks - just leg kicks, body shots, and takedowns. Which really bores me, because I like to try to fight.

Other than that, I can only imagine you'd have to gimp your character's stats so that he's almost at 0 for stand up, then you just have to play really defensively and rely on winning decisions.
Nah, just normal fights online against randoms via Quick Match and/or a custom Exhibition with standard settings and UFC fighters. I tend to use weaker characters, but I am definitely not 'nerfing' myself and trying for decisions. I'm certainly cautious of their big strikes and tend to keep my distance and get out rather than eat 4-5 uppercuts or elbows in 2 seconds, but I readily engage them both standing and on the ground and am not purposely trying to avoid anything except getting punched in the head.

Dunno why my experience has been so much better recently... I played for about 4 hours yesterday total and had a great time, with only 1 or 2 fights that annoyed me or ended in a ridiculous manner (one guy nailed me with 4 Rua elbows in a row that I couldn't block and then KO'd me with a head kick in like a minute). The rest were pretty much hard-fought battles that ended in a variety of ways, including GnP from backmount, submissions, and lop-sided decisions. One fight I was killing the dude and ended up winning 30-26 or more on all 3 cards but nobody got KO'd despite both of us being dead tired and above 90% head damage by the end.

I beat several GSPs and Brocks, some high-ranked guys, a few MT clinch cheesers (those dudes have NO chance against me haha, I ****in love it), some submission spammers (and sub switch spammers, who think they're hot ****), and RS flickers with ease. I know the reversal timing inside and out and don't ahve to resort to that crap to win... I don't like the reversal system in these games on the whole, but I sure as hell can use it to my advantage both on the ground and standing...

I dunno too much... (copyright DookieMowf, all rights reserved)
