NCAA Football 11 News Post

Manage your school using the web in NCAA Football 11. Read all about it, at ESPN Videogames.

Quote:
"With "NCAA Football 09", EA Sports introduced football fans to their version of an online dynasty where gamers were able to play in a conference with up to 12 players, but managing your school had to be done through the console. This year, the team behind "NCAA Football 11" is finally taking the feature full-force to the Web, enabling gamers to log onto their dynasty anywhere they have access to the Internet, whether it's on a computer, iPhone, or even an iPad.

That's right, now if you an extra 20 minutes to kill at work (or if you just don't feel like working), you can log onto your team online, schedule a game, try to recruit that strong-armed quarterback for next season, and even write up a news story about how you destroyed Florida the night before and post the story to Facebook.

Talk about a productivity killer. "NCAA Football 11" is set to cost corporate America millions of dollars in lost time just so Dan from Palo Alto can try to convince some virtual running back that Stanford is the best place for him to high-step down the field next season.

But that's just the start of what EA has planned.

I recently had the chance to sit down with NCAA Football 11" producers Ben Haumiller and Russ Kiniry to get the inside scoop on the game's new online dynasty features.

Video highlights of a player's entire career? Team highlights that extend to 60 seasons? That's only just the beginning."

I figured they would add something like this sooner or later. Nice addition.

WOW I couldn't be more excited for NCAA 11. Looks like they are really giving us everything we could ask for. This will be awesome to manage the dynasty on the internet, kudos to EA for an excellent addition.

I've been thinking a lot about this feature in the past, oh, five minute since I saw this report.

I'm wondering if you play your dynasty offline, then upload it for online use, if all of the information from past games, the stats, all the goodies are there. One of the huge things for me would be the ability to just screen capture the stats or do something like that for dynasty reports.

I have now gone from "looking forward to" NCAA's release to "an unhealthy obsession" with NCAA's release.

This is the single greatest feature they could have added for me personally. I'm almost shedding tears of joy.

This is a good question, I'm curious as well about this. Like, do you have to be connected the entire time? I wouldn't think so, but maybe I'm wrong.

Very cool. I will surely use it in my single player dynasty to gain access to this. Recruiting at work during down time will be fun.

WOW! This is truly great news! I am sold on this game. The presentation type things are obviously an improvement this year.

Yeah, you'll want a steady connection because we have to report the results of your phone call after you hang up to prevent issues caused by recruiting on the console and the web at the same time.

Wow. Just. Wow.

Russ Kiniry: Another thing this does is create a history for your dynasty. You can see where you were at through every single week. You can see the results of every single game and see who won. You have a full archive. If you're in year ten, you can go back to year two and read through your old stories. I can't think of another game that has done this. You get to play the role of journalist and it keeps track the entire length you're playing.

And the cool thing is, these stories show up as the first thing people see when they log into their dynasty. Not to mention, you can also publish these stories out to Facebook and Twitter. You can even link people back directly to your story so they can watch the highlights for themselves. So if you spend an hour creating the coolest story of all time, not only will everyone in your dynasty see it, but you can tell all of your friends and everyone who follows you on Twitter. Now if you beat one of your friends, you finally have the chance to not only shame him, but shame him to the world.
Honestly, this could be the biggest thing to ever happen to replayabilty in a sports game. I'm stoked beyond belief right now.

Can you advance the season from the web also? Don't think it said he can actually advance it just an email saying that you can advance it.

Great news. As others have mentioned, I'm glad you can do a single-player online dynasty. EA has done more in NCAA 11 than they did in 09 and 10 combined. Hopefully E3 has another big announcement.

Edit: In the past EA's website/game tie in has crashed due to too much traffic. Remember when they introduced Gameface to Tiger Woods? The site was inaccessible for hours at a time due to so many users. I hope EA has this sorted out for NCAA.
