NCAA Football 11 News Post

The NCAA Football 11 demo arrives next week and 2 of the teams have been confirmed. Ohio St. vs. Miami, screenshots included.

UPDATE: Pastapadre is now reporting there will be 6 other teams to be announced for the NCAA Football 11 demo, which will be released for both the 360 and PS3 on the same date, June 14th.

Quote:
"There will be eight teams total within the demo and they will be selectable in four different matchups. That means that OSU vs Miami is one of the matchups but the option won’t be available to take OSU/Miami against one of the other six teams. The idea with the inclusion of eight different teams is to put on display the different authentic offensive styles that have been added to the game this year.

The remaining six teams are currently unknown but they will be revealed throughout the week in a similar manner as the first two were today. Quarter length for the games is something I hope to get confirmation on but they will probably be set at two or four minutes."

OK guys here is what i am guessing. The other teams will be marque non conference matchups. It wouldnt surprise me if Bama vs Penn St. was one and OU vs FSU was another matchup and either Boise st vs Va tech or North Carolina vs LSU or Oregon vs Tennessee or UConn vs Michigan. The post said they are trying to display the different offensive styles. Bama has the one back i believe and OU has the No Huddle Air raid thing and Oregon/Michigan have the spread option. That is just my guess though.

Wow first post. Hey guys! Just want to point out that tOSU is not a spread team nor are they represented as a spread team in NCAA11. They are a multipleO team that uses spread, pro, and option elements.

Edit: The purpose of me pointing this out is because there is still a spread team to be announced

some people are commenting questioning the reason why it is tOSU and Miami, but it clearly said that there will be other availible matchups. also, the matchups will be greatly determined by the style of play of the teams. my guess is that the remainig teams will be maybe: Michigan(option spread), Alabama(one back), Texas(not sure what they will run w/ gilbert, but NC team), Notre Dame(spread), USC (Pro Style)

Georgia Tech or Navy
Texas Tech
Alabama
Michigan
Nevada
SMU maybe?

I'm forgetting a few offenses. But I'm willing to bet on all of those teams getting in.

Keep this in mind: using 8 teams isn't just about showing off the different offensive styles, it's also about showing off the pregame traditions. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if you saw, for example, Michigan vs. Notre Dame. Both have unique offenses AND pregame traditions.

Personally, I'd love to see these and I think they're all real possibilities:

Nebraska vs. Texas (at Cowboys Stadium would be awesome)
Florida vs. Alabama
Oregon vs. USC

Choices are always a plus

I hope they have atleast 2 lower tier teams. Also don't forget they're probably going to pick teams that had pro combat unis.

This is awesome news. I never in a million years thought we'd get more than one team in a demo. EA must be really proud of their product this year, which is a very good sign.

Now I just hope we get at least 4 minute quarters.

Also, considering their choice of Miami-Ohio State, they could also go with big 2010 nonconference matchups. I think there a very very good chance they'll do FSU-Oklahoma (they love FSU, and Oklahoma runs a no-huddle spread). Also, Penn State-Bama is an option.

i'm guessing it's either big ooc games or games that showcase 120 ways to win. i'm hoping it is big ooc games so that va tech-boise is included.

I think it would be cool to have the option to toggle home/away so that we can play at all 8 teams stadiums as well.

Really looking forward to this. Don't really care what teams are there. After all I played with Oklahoma (ugh) and Florida (double ugh) last year. I might just take off work.
