What is up with the rubber band looking things around the legs of a lot of the players? I'm assuming it's supposed to be a patella support strap, but that should go around the knee, not around the leg below the knee around the top of the calf muscle.

From a physics standpoint, that's impossible for something to stay there anyways. The slope of the calf towards the knee would force a "band" to roll up to the knee.

But that's besides the point. And I'm actually reading that some people thing it looks cool? Really???

Everything looks so good graphically, so I just don't get how they could screw up something like that. I mean, if you're going to add a tiny piece of equipment like that, you'd think they would know exactly what it is and where it belongs.

Oh well, nice screens anyways.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, it's just a band like some players wear on their elbows or above the elbow. They added it because a lot of players wear them and some in the community wanted them.

Not a support strap... just there for looks...

# 104 Watson @ 05/25/10 12:14 AM
Yea, i've seen them worn on the leg since 06

Bunch of pansies lol ... The guys that accessorize have a special place in the hearts of us coaches... starting on the All-Shorts Team. In shorts and a shirt they're the greatest players on earth; once they get the pads on it's all about looking pretty.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good.

There's a big difference between "looking good in your gear" and "going out of your way to accessorize to draw attention to yourself"

Lift weights and play like a bad-a$$ ... then you'll look good in any gear.

what level of football do you play? I'm not being aggressive, I'm just wondering.

# 113 Jessep07 @ 05/25/10 01:34 AM
well, at any rate it's obvious that I enjoy that aspect of football. Aside from physically standing above my peers, I thoroughly enjoyed the cosmetic aspect of it too. Yeah, it's vain. Yeah, it's egotistical. But it's football.

Oh and if it wasn't obvious, I was a receiver.

NCAA is looking good! Have to agree about the lump going down the middle of the helmets though. It looks bad, really bad.

# 116 sarlndr @ 05/25/10 06:38 AM
I hope thats the light making Boise's helmets look that way. EA seems to have a problem with getting the right skin tone for black people.
