Yeah, but that would actually make sense.

What's stranger is that even in Madden 06 and 07, the cut scenes played full screen with no obstructions, and if you wanted to end it you pressed 'A' and the playcall screen came up. Their approach now just obstructs the view.

If they don't address this in Madden 11, I'm just going to give up even talking about it. For whatever reason they appear to want to rationalize bad design choices. I've yet to hear how covering up a cut scene makes an ounce of sense. You'd have to think that whoever captured the videos for example, did it with the understanding that it looks better when GameFlow is on since it doesn't obstruct the view. I don't think anyone can argue with the idea that those scenes in the shots we've seen look a lot better without the obstruction than it does with the obstruction.

Agreed. We'll see; I've got my fingers crossed. Keep fighting the good fight for us when/if you go back to EA, you've got all of our best interests as well as EA's in mind, even if they don't see it that way.

So obvious.

He's standing on a chair.

the stripes actually good. the jaguars had like three different cuts to there jersery thats how they are "supposed" to be but MJD and a few other players were using those prototype strechy reebok jerseys and the stripes didnt even match the other players on the team. the helmet logo is way too big, the colorshift in the helmet is way too green it should have more of a bluish teal effect to it. The pant stripe are wrong they have them just running straight down the leg it suppoosed to curve to the back at the top and toward the knee at the bottom. The black stripe is way too thin on the pants you can barely tell that its there,The numbers are a little small and the black outline is not thick enough on the front or the shoulder numbers. Im sure they havent fixed the font on the back of the jerseys or the away pants missing a stripe altogether either but we will see. Ive tried telling the guy responsible for the unis on twitter but the only person he responds to is pastapadre so looks like jags unis are screwed again like last year.

Dude you are so right about this.

BTW, have you noticed the really small numbers on the jerseys of some teams? In one of the M11 videos, the numbers on the back of the Packers players' jerseys were really small. I know everyone will come at me saying "why worry about something so small like that when ________ needs to be fixed", but the bottom-line is, playing with the Packers all the time, that would end up driving me INSANE, so for me, it IS a big deal.

Shucks, wasn't it just last year that some Cowboys fans complained about the star on the helmets being too big? I remember the EA guys fixed that before the game was released...

Two other thoughts on the new screen shots: 1- the ball is HUGE. look at one of the pics of MJD running, the football is almost twice as big as real life. it looks really weird and it's been like this for a couple years now in madden.

compare this:

to this:

yikes eh?

That said, I am LOVING the new facemasks they're putting in. The new Revolution and Revo Speed masks that they're showing in these new screen shots are so great.

Carolina Screens ??

One minor pet peeve for me:

^^ The generic stat banners! Doesn't tell you whether this is the current season, last season, or anything. Instead of giving the # of completions (without the # of attempts I might add), why not the completion percentage? How about the number of INTs or his QB rating? The generic info they provide doesn't give a good enough look into how the QB has been playing.

Again, just a pet peeve. I can't speak for M11, but overall, banners and pertinent stat information has been a weak spot for Madden.

No Madden screenshots are taken on any crazy super computers. They are never doctored in Photoshop. They are always taken in 720 or 1080.

I can assure you the only issue with the jags uniforms is the logo on the white back plate on the helmet.

Not sure what stripe you think you're seeing but its correct.

I wish they just did away with cut scenes altogether. NBA 2k doesn't have any cut scenes and that game is really immersive.

It is also played on a smaller "field" and has a lot less players on it.

I didn't want to make a new thread just for this, but it has to be said... What is up with skintones, again?

Look at Joseph Addai in Madden 11:

Now look at him in real life:

Those two pics are nowhere near close, and he would look lighter in the Madden pic if it weren't for Manning casting a shadow on him. Addai in Madden is MANY shades lighter than his real-life counterpart. This really is a big authenticity issue. In both Madden 09 and 10 this problem existed and it made players not look like themselves. We need a fix here.

My first suggestion is to use in-game shots as a benchmark and not headshot photos. For whatever reason, when headshot photos are taken for the NFL, they tend to appear lighter. I discovered this disparity while making photo matches for rosters when I made the 2K5 e-pak years ago.

LOL. Yeah, I think they used the same lighting effect on Michael Jackson back in the 80's...
