NCAA Football 11 News Post

IGN has just posted their hands-on preview of NCAA Football 11.

Quote:
"When I first laid my eyes on NCAA Football 11, the difference between this year's NFL game was instantly noticeable. NCAA just looks more -- to put it frankly -- real. This year's game is designed for the true college football fan with a more realistic look to its player models and overall graphical style. Everything from the skin of the players to the sky above looks wonderfully detailed.

Obviously, after a short preview, I can't say whether EA Sports has succeeded in its effort to deliver a truly authentic college football game, but by the outward appearance of the game I saw in New York and the direction they say they're going, I'd say the developers at Tiburon are well on their way.

Locomotion is perhaps the simplest of all of the additions for the new game. In layman's terms, it makes every animation in the game smoother. More accurately, it makes the transitions between the animations more seamless and it gives players more realistic physical behaviors on the field. So while it doesn't necessarily add thousands of moves, it does make the current list of moves look much more natural on the field. You'll see players with accurate amounts of momentum given their speed, corners who can catch up to wide receivers in the open, and cuts by computer opponents that don't look like they were made by a robot. I hope it progresses from the state that I saw in New York, but what I saw was impressive."

At 1:46 of the video, look at the Texas safety properly back peddle. Thank you EA.

That video was pretty good.

The players just look better. They move better. The animations are smoother. The cuts are more fluid. The little touches are really starting to add up.

I'm really excited to get my hands on the controller to get the new feel of the game.

Thanks Solidice.

Definitely liked that last vid a lot better. Some minor notes from the videos and info I've seen/read so far.

*If people don't see the difference between the juke moves from this year to last, then you're not watching it correctly.
*Throwing motion looks more or less exactly the same.
*Im hoping that duel stick takes away the super spin.
*Blocking looks much improved in the secondary.
*Hit stick seems to have taken a shot, which is good news to most including myself.
*Even an attempt at 120 different play styles can't turn out to be bad. Although I don't think it will be great. I think most of the more prominent (G.Tech, Florida, Michigan, Navy, Air Force, USC, BSU, ect) playbooks will be hit on the head.
*I played NCAA Basketball 10, and the presentation was awesome and made the game playable. If NCAA Football 11 can pull that off, with what I already considered playable gameplay, I'll be very happy.
*I'm really worried about wide receivers not looking for the ball and still being able to catch it. Its something that annoys me in both MLB games and Football games.

Once again just with all the other info, going to take this with a grain salt considering the nature of previews. I have never read a preview for any game that didn't make the game sound great including the previews about the last couple NCAA's.

Whoa, damn! That's not cool. All this time they can't get the ball to rotate correctly on the PS3??? I really hope they fixed that, this year, but as for the video, most likely it was the 360 version, as usual, since it's their lead console.

This is a weak preview. Not sure it deserves it's own thread. Waiting for the OS preview - should be up by 10 am.
