NCAA Football 11 News Post

Lost in the NCAA Football 11 madness, going on at OS lately. I figured we should spotlight this post from fincane.

Gamestop has leaked out a few features on NCAA Football 11.

Quote:
Feel the emotion of authentic college football more than ever with NCAA Football 11. From running the ‘no-huddle’ spread offense to walking out of the tunnel locking arms, everything you do and see will be original to your favorite school. With an all-new locomotion engine and real assignment A.I., only NCAA Football 11 gives you 120 ways to win!
  • An All-New Locomotion System — Your gameday experience is taken to a new level with all-new authentic running mechanics. From an explosive first step and the ability to stop momentum on a dime, to rebalancing yourself after an over-pursuit, feel what it’s like to cover the field and play at the most elite level in college football.
  • Play the Way the Schools Do — Run the “no-huddle” spread, triple option, wishbone, wild hog, or pistol offenses the same way as your favorite schools. Dictate the tempo of the game when running the spread as you look to the sideline for the plays, or break the huddle and study the defense at the line of scrimmage when operating a traditional, pro-style offense. The game is in your hands.
  • All-New ESPN Broadcast Package Integration — From kickoff to the game’s final play, feel like you’re a part of the ESPN Game of the Week! ESPN broadcasters Kirk Herbstreit and Brad Nessler offer insights and commentary while breaking down your game, and reporter Erin Andrews provides injury reports and updates from the sidelines.
  • Real Assignment AI — From new running lanes to double-team blocking, experience the most realistic authentic offensive performance like never before!

I hope that "Real Assignment AI" translates to improved blocking AI.

I only played NCAA10 for a few weeks because I got sick of the FB running the wrong way or getting 6 inches from a defender before turning and running to block another defender 10 yards away. If this issue is fixed I'll be happy. If not, I'll return the rental immediately and hope that the blocking AI improves in NCAA12.

I hope the double team blocking works right, if it does i can finally run a true 3-4 defense!

Aside from a coaching carousel (which I still haven't ruled out), what else would an AD mode include? You can't really relocate a whole school cuz football ticket sales are down.

I can't speak for others, but I kinda get the feeling people want AD mode to:

  • Take over a 1 star school w/ a small stadium
  • Build team into a 4-5 star school
  • Upgrade or build new stadium
  • Turn 4-5 star program into National Contender
  • Upgrade new stadium
  • Resign and start all over again???
I'm sure coaches figure into that as well, and uniforms, etc...

Sounds good but I'll believe it when I see it. Lets see if the text translates into the gameplay & presentation.

Ths looks fine and well but there are still potential landmines. We've been told teams will play they way they should (no huddle, pro offense etc), but then a triple option team recruits a pocket passer and that team goes to crap. Until that's fixed, team specific offenses are good for a year or two.

I'm not holding my breathe based on what we've seen and heard so far.

Right, I really hope EA did there homework on teams if there gonna say things like that.

I hope the real assignment football applies to the defensive side of the ball also..but I doubt it does.

We'll have to see how this looks in full gameplay, but history suggests that the D usually gets left out in the cold.

i have a feeling that the video playing in the background on the tebow video will be the sizzler to come out for the game.

Sounds like they have some no huddle feature. Will be interested to see how that works out.

Yep, if they don't reprogram the CPU A.I. for recruiting then Dynasty mode will not have longevity in a qualitative sense. You hope that they would know that fixing this is crucial to making this feature shine, but this has been one the major(non gameplay) blind spots in this game since the advent of Dynasty mode.

Yep, I'm pretty sure it was since it ended with the "120 ways to play" line.

Should I be concerned that "custom playbooks" wasn't mentioned?

Probably not in..

I just hope the team entrances aren't rushed and just become film clips. The presentation should be at a nice even pace with the ability to skip it if a player chooses to everything should be polished with very few glitches at least that's what I'm hoping.

hopefully if they do what each school does if there really are team specific entrances, then this video will be in before they run down the hill
That Clemson clip got me fired up... and I'm nowhere near a Clemson fan... LOL

Here's something that would be awesome in the game, but I'm sure will not be part of it...

We'll see. I'm not holding my breath on this one.

I don't think i would ever be any other team other than Hawaii if that was in the game. However, it won't be and there is no way it would look as cool since long hair is not in the game because those dudes look pretty intense.

Yeah, nothing worse than a 60speed QB running options.

BYU does that too before the game.
