MLB 10 News Post

Playstation.Blog has posted another MLB '10: The Show blog. This one features All-Star week, video clip included.

"When playing the Home Run Derby, you have the choice to set which players are controlled by player 1, player 2, or the CPU – except in RTTS, where you only get to control your created player. You also will have fast-forwarding abilities, in case you want to skip the CPU-controlled player’s at bats.

After tackling the Home Run Derby addition, we thought why not go all-in and include the All-Star Futures Game as well. So, we’ve done just that. Now you get the full All-Star package. The All-Star Futures Game is available in both Franchise and Road To The Show – and just the same as the derby, in RTTS you will only have the opportunity to participate if your player was selected."

in the all star game for 10 will the players be wearing their own jerseys or just the normal NL AL jerseys?

In '09 in my second year of my franchise (2010) it was automatically in Anaheim. So I would assume they put it in at least two ballparks in '10

You can change it yourself.

Wow, the detail is unbelievable.

They said last year that if they had different uniforms for each player, then they would have to drop the quality a lot because of all of the different textures.

Also, how do they select the players for the Future's Game?

Can our rtts players play in the usa v. world game, and in the homerun derby?

The reason I ask is that I didn't notice anyone hanging out in foul territory. Be cool to see the other players and family chillin on the field as the ball leaves the park.

Looks freaking awesome. FInally a HR derby done right. And the Futures game looks wicked fun too. I'd love to see something like the "Futures at Fenway" game be in it... every year, the Red Sox host a weekend of games at Fenway park of Portland Sea Dogs and Pawtucket Red Sox games, tickets are cheap and you get to enjoy a game at Fenway even if it's with the minor leaguers. It's usually a good time for families to get to Fenway... It'd be a nice nod to something that more teams are doing now-a-days to drum up interest in their farm teams.

I'm betting on yes in both. They mentioned All Star Weekend in RTTS and in Franchise/Season mode, so I'd imagine that they could participate in both. If 2K Sports didn't have the World Baseball Classic license, It'd be sweet to see a WBC every four years -- or whenever they do it -- and your RTTS guy or Franchise players can make the teams... against some real ringers from Asia and South America

It looked pretty good to me. You should offer up some ideas on what they could do to improve.

I LOVE what they added to the Derby. And looking at those players gave me goosebumps. Derby + Real time = !!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, anyone mind explaining this "All Star Package" thing, I really didn't understand the reading that well in the end.

My thoughts exactly. The All-Star Week stuff looks great! HR Derby looks like something fun I can play with my kids too (and by myself ).

The player reactions to the moon shots were awesome. Very nice touch.
