MLB 10 News Post

The Playstation.Blog has posted another MLB '10: The Show blog. This one features real time presentation mode.

Quote:
"In a continued effort to blur the lines between a video game and a televised broadcast, MLB 10: The Show is proud to introduce the brand new presentation mode: Real Time. Available with replays or without, Real Time is a new presentation mode designed to further enhance the realism our baseball simulation offers you, the baseball fan.

Hoping to have you question whether you’re playing MLB 10: The Show or watching a live baseball game on TV, we’ve captured hundreds of new animations and have done extensive work with both our AI and our cameras. From the pitcher toeing the rubber until the next batter walks up to the dish, you’ll experience continuity with the seamless animations and positional intelligence of each player on and off the field. All new camera angles and cut-timing capture the player’s new movements and further enhance the presentation mode by mimicking the camera work seen on televised MLB broadcasts. Post-play has never looked this real."

Yeah, I asked the Community Day guys about those exhibition overlays making it over to franchise (e.g., league homerun leaders, etc.) and they said they made it in. Add that to "scores from around the league" overlays and we're going to get a much broader view of the entire league in general.

Why? Well, if "I" am hitting a homerun it makes me "take-in" the feeling of an awesome accomplishment - in previous years it seemed like after I hit a homerun the next batter was already in the box...

Next, if I am "giving up" the homerun it now "hurts" even more as I have to sulk in extra time waiting for the opposition to round the bases...

It's a Catch-22 and I absolutely love it - it's small, yet detailed!
wondering do we have the ability to press a button to skip this? sometimes i'll watch it, sometimes i want to move on.

I hope they finally fix the fact that sometimes batters come up to bat with sunglasses on....which NEVER happens!

I need glasses when pitching. I don't pitch anymore, just saying. Guys that rock the specs on the mount get serious props from me.

Argh... I was really hoping they'd fix that. It's looks ridiculous, and I'm glad the real life team opted to not go with that scheme after all...

When I opened up the page, and glanced at that picture, I seriously thought it was a new show pic. Clearly after looking closer I realized it wasn't, but it just goes to show how good their game looks

Randy Winn wears sunglasses while batting.

I find it funny in the video when justin morneau dives at first and tosses the runner out, matt vasgersian mentions the play ending the inning, when everyone was clearly staying in position almost like it was only 2 outs.
