Major League Baseball 2K10 Preview (Gamepro)

Gamepro has posted their preview of Major League Baseball 2K10.

	"One advantage players will notice by having Visual Concepts at the helm for the entire development cycle is the luxury of learning from their successful experiences with NBA 2K10. "Now that we have NHL, NBA and MLB all in house here at Visual Concepts, we have the ability to share resources a lot more," said Bishop. "You can see similarities in navigation and presentation and we want you to have a sense of familiarity with whatever 2K Sports title you pick up. When you play MLB 2K10's My Player mode you'll see a lot of elements that are in common with NBA 2K10's My Player mode. We took a lot of what they did to set the bar and we tried to add elements that made more sense for baseball."

I'm guess I am one of the few patient people left. People can cry all day about the lack of game play videos, the fact is they aren't out and all of the previews so far have been very positive. If my memory serves me correctly it wasn't this way last year. I like what I have been reading and I'm very excited for 2k baseball this year.

What's even more frustrating about the lack of gameplay vids is that goofy "Keep Longo from going Longo" promo they've been showing for almost 2 months now. I've been watching the Caribbean World Series and they run this dreck almost every commercial break, without any new additions. C'mon!!!

Gameplay videos will only show you how good the graphics and animations are. They don't show you outfielders not being able to pick up a ball against the fence, or tags going through players and not being called out.

What's the difference between seeing gameplay videos 4 weeks before release or 1 or 2 weeks before release? I'd rather they be working hard at getting the demo released than just seeing the videos.

On twitter or someplace Ron said they were waiting to show gameplay videos because "then what's left then except for the demo?"

So, I guess the marketing strategy is to only show one video, and wait for it to be released close to the date......

Someone should tell them that a video capture card isn't a single use item...........
