"Hey everyone, the MLB FE team here to bring you the first installment of the MLB 10: The Show blogs. For this entry, we’ll be talking about some of the details that have gone into the new 30-Player Franchise Mode.

One of our goals going into this year was to finally enable the ability to mimic your real-life counterpart rosters when in Franchise mode. In order to do so, we had to allow all 30 teams to be set for user control. Before we could even dive into that, we had to change up how profiles and options work."

Wow, this is a great list, and the fact that its the first list makes it even better. The manual injuries are HUGE and a welcome addition to those that follow along with the real season (not me, but I know lots of people do that).

The Single A roster stuff is a good addition and will help manage the teams.

What Im most excited about is the waiver, DFA, post July 31 stuff. Now, its like real life. Put a player on waivers, see who makes a claim, pull him back and try to trade him. AWesome awesome stuff. Great job SCEA. The transaction stuff and overseeing personnel is HUGE and you guys stepped up to the plate big time.

Silly me for not noticing the final line. Sweet.

Now I don't have to worry about my players getting mad at me because there is no pilates.

Expanding on this, It would be SOOO great if it is an option that you could turn off and on. I know some options in franchise you can and some you can't. (like force trades if I recall, because this is one I wanted to turn off later)

My dream: controlling all 30 teams with their injuries and their roster moves for ONLY the 1st season of franchise. 2nd season and on I would like injuries to be simulated.

I like to keep my franchise very realistic for 1st season, and then go in lots of different directions for all the rest of the seasons.

There are all sorts of inappropriate things happening in my pants right now!

Awesome stuff....truly wasn't expecting this much added. I thought they'd just tweak the systems they put in place last year since they seemed so focused on presentation. I guess I shouldn't be surprised...these guys never disappoint and never cease to impress! Good stuff!

EDIT: and as much as I'm not a huge fan of this tradition personally, it sounds like I will finally be able to add "Sweet Caroline" to Fenway in the eighth...so much they have gotten right!

I wonder if roster makers will have the ability to edit injuries prior to franchise mode. That way All-stars don't start the season in the minors because they are injured.

Also I hope they added more in regards to stats and stat tracking.

Don't worry, I missed it too! I think its because I get so excited about what I'm reading I don't really read it thorough and take time to digest it all. Kind of like my eating habits

Good God, how many sound files will be allowed this year then!!?? They will surely need WAY more than 250 now that they've included these INCREDIBLE new details!! Time to finally upgrade this hard drive!

Haha I'm going to have fun with this manual injury option.

What's that Alfonso Soriano? Can't lay off the off-speed low and away?

Broken leg for you!!!

I love OS. So honest.

I laughed hard at each of these posts.

Oh, and The Show 10 is going to be outstanding! I wasn't sure if I was going to make the purchase, but this team does too good of a job to not buy it, even if you're not a big baseball fan (myself).

wow i was stoked for this game after i heard about all 30 team control franchise...and that was without the knowledge of creating injuries, expanded waiver, and single a teams! i was strongly considering skipping out on mlb 10, cuz i figured 09 would be enough for two years worth of play, but after these feautures have been announced, i'll defintely be buying mlb 10. and thats after just ONE blog. cant wait for all the info from community day and the future blogs

# 60 FindingTim @ 01/20/10 09:05 PM
i am not so hardcore that the injury options apply to me, but I can see why this is so crucial to some of you. Thanks developers- you really listen!

the two things that most excite me are the email system and the fact that the blogs have started!

anyone remember how consistently they get published? daily? weekly?

and did someone mention a 90 player fantasy draft?? I am salivating. Fantasy drafts are my drug of choice.

i know a lot of you wait for Knight's edits to begin your franchises... but how can you wait that long? isn't the opening day itch too irresistible?

After seeing all that is new with the game, I'm jumping right in to franchise. and you better believe I'm setting up a face-paint stand!

peace-
