These are some of the most noticeable issues I've found thus far.

Ryan O'Reilly
is still a 60 overall with 68 potential. He's playing better hockey than Matt Duchene thus far. He's on the Avs 3rd line this season and is a +11. He gets time on the Power Play as well.

Ondrej Pavelec is ready for the NHL this year. Kari Lehtonen is out recovering from back surgery and Pavelec took over the starting job from Hedberg. In 9 games he has a .920 save % and even had a monster game in which he allowed 1 goal in over 50 shots! He's clearly better than a 73 overall. Lehtonen had a second surgery, so Pavelec is going to be the starter for a while and I don't see Kari getting the job back when he returns.

Zach Bogosian Stamina is still a 76 when he's playing 22+ minutes a game this year and he's tied for 2nd in the league in goals for defensemen. He deserves a little boost in offense.

Rich Peverly has been hot ever since arriving to Atlanta last season averaging a point per game. This season he's already got 16 points in 9 games. He was awarded a contract extension. He deserves a boost.

John Tavares
should not have a goat tee.

Victor Hedman should have blonde hair.

Matt Duchene is one of the fastest skaters in the league. 80 acceleration makes him one of the lowest rated amongst Avs forwards. Especially when you consider Tavares has 86 acceleration and he's not even known for his skating ability...Duchene is!

Steven Stamkos deserves a boost. He's leading TB in goals and is tied for 2nd in the league. This kid is the real deal and on pace for 40+ goals.

I'm glad there are more frequent roster updates this year. However, I'd like to see more attribute changes according to who's playing well and who's not. Kopitar is playing well and I noticed he's now a 91 overall, but Martin Havlat is playing poorly and he's still a 87 overall. As mentioned above, Peverly is playing well for the Thrashers so he deserves a boost. White and Kozlov have been struggling, so they should be lowered.

Just my thoughts.

It's cool, these are the kinds of thoughts I appreciate. Doing roster updates is kind of something I'm doing on the side right now, but I'm hoping the more frequently we do them means the less I'll have to go in and make giant changes to the file.

I tried this time to go and make sure we boosted some guys playing well, but with so many attributes and such a large number of players stuff can (and will) always slip through the cracks.

But yeah this is essentially the perfect post for the kind of feedback I'm looking for, and when I get a chance I'll likely go through and address these items the next time we update.

Thanks

I forgot to mention visors. None of the rookies (Tavares, Duchene, Hedman, Kane, O'Reilly, Del Zotto etc.) are wearing visors when they should be.

# 5 Santino @ 11/05/09 08:55 PM
Brad May should be on Detroit.

Nice, the support for this game is getting better and better. Love the roster updates because I would never take the time to do those things and to include team strategy is even better. Thanks 2k.

I really don't know much about hockey,so I really don't know who's hot or cold,or who the rookies are, so thanks for the last few updates.

The updating of team strategies was a nice addition...thanks for including those as well.

It's just a default now set for all lines, but specific to each team. You're still able to change it for individual lines though. Essentially all teams are set up this way until you change them yourself, it was just what specific strategies they were playing that got changed.

I wasn't too big on Venom's strats.. to be honest especially teams set to "All Out" That just makes your forwards skate all the way to the other teams blue line and wait for the puck even if the puck is still in the defensive zone.

Hmmm, maybe this is why the game has been playing so differently the last two patches. Almost every game since then the cpu has gone bananas on offense, shooting like crazy in the first period. I'm going to have to adjust the strats or just try out one of the older rosters to see if it plays better. Just seems like the gameplay has taken a turn for the worse during the last two roster updates, imo.

Yeah it may have something to do with it, although the CPU will shoot too much period, even with shot freq at 0 and pass freq almost maxed. Another thing to try is raising cpu one timer freq. Although i'm still trying to get the Dmen to stop pinching so deep. There are still too many breakaways even when your strategy is "stay back"

Venom's changes were only included in the last roster update, not the last two. They are fairly easy to revert if people don't like them though.

I think they are fine, but a poll would be better to see the opinions of players. I like them because they allow for teams to play differently everygame.

Shadow, could you please post what exactly each Attribute means. I would like to create some of the AHL players that are missing, but I'm stumped as to what Influence, Courage, and some other Attributes actually effect or if they even have much importance.

I have onetimers set to 75, which does seem to force the cpu to cycle more. Nonetheless, they shoot far too often from the faceoff circle as dfb commented.

Thanks, Shadow. Couldn't remember exactly how many they were applied to. For now, I'll try to work with them because I'd rather have each team play their style. Right now, I'm tweaking my sliders a bit to compensate for some of the gameplay issues I've been experiencing, and so far, that's been working out alright. Keep up the great support, bud!

Not sure about courage, but maybe the influence rating works the way leadership did in NFL2k5. Leadership improved the consistency rating of other players on the field.

NHL doesn't have a consistency rating, but perhaps players with high influence give small boosts to other players on the ice in certain categories that the player is strong in; improving awareness, accuracy etc.

Just a thought.

Just posted them in the sliders section. I've only played a couple of games with them, so they're far from being finalized. Nonetheless, feel free to try them out and give some feedback.

Just overwrote the previous roster update with a slightly new one; there's no player movement (that will have to go in a later one). But this should address:

-A few more player rating adjustments
-The Josh Bailey crash on Wii
-Visors have been added to some notable rookies that were missing them.
-A few helmets/equipment pieces have been fixed

Thanks to Mr.Hordwell for the good feedback, I'm happy to try and fix any other equipment, rating, or face issues noticed in future roster updates.

Shadow, just wanted to give a Kudos to the entire NHL 2K team for the great support for 2K10. It makes a huge difference now and will come time for 2K11 when people are on the fence. Knowing that this kind of support goes into the game makes a HUGE difference to customers.
